Anyway, where can I fix bent rims down here? The Beastmaster 12-10-2004, 04:47 AM Freddys will fix bent rims, but they are pretty slow. Tod Ruston and Mobile Wheel Repair will be getting a machine next year to fix bends. topspin 12-10-2004, 04:49 AM Freddys will fix bent rims, but they are pretty slow. The Beastmaster 12-10-2004, 05:12 AM What kind of rim is bent? It might be cheaper to just buy another one if available. GcD 12-10-2004, 05:38 AM He fixed 2 of my old Doublespoke 1 rims before. The inner lips were bent. topspin 12-10-2004, 06:14 AM What kind of rim is bent? It might be cheaper to just buy another one if available. Nah im pretty sure its not. Its a breyton inspiriation 17" new ones are like 400 or something, im pretty sure it doesnt cost that much to fix. The Beastmaster 12-10-2004, 06:50 AM Hopefully Freddy's is taking new repairs. If not, you will have to ship it to the mainland and that might negate any savings over a new rim. IslandS62 12-10-2004, 03:20 PM Join the bent rim club! I've been trying to get Freddy's to even answer the phone for a few months now. No dice. Honestly, if I can't even get these guys on the phone I am not going to give him my rim or business. Talented or not, poor business practice is not excusable. My Hartge rear has a small cosmetic bend on the outer side, so if he does not do cosmetic touch-up I guess I am shipping it the mainland or waiting for Tod (who I am seeing tommorrow, I'll ask about the machine again) for sure. Be sure to submit tort claim with the city or state if you have the documentation. I got a nice $800 check last month for the Audi rim that ate it earlier this year. Its a PITA but if you have the patience they will pay. toropoki 12-11-2004, 06:45 PM Be sure to submit tort claim with the city or state if you have the documentation. Thanks Ed :D IslandS62 12-11-2004, 09:05 PM You need to fill out a report, telling your side of the story, document the damage to the rim (pics), document the hole that caused the damage (pics), prove that hole caused your damage (police report or other), get two estimates of repair/replacement for the rim, get document saying the rim can or can't be repaired, and send in your proof of insurance and registration. Its a fun 10 month process that may or may not be worthwhile to you. Tod fixed my 3 rashed Moda 18"s from the Audi today, they look brand new! :D I went to install them on the car, and one of them had a leaking valve stem  Oh well, I guess I can wait another week or two to get them on again. :( |
