Hello all,

Apperantly I got stuck with a car that BMW locked out my TV function so I cant watch it. I tried the trick but to no avail. I need an old program from a BMW dealer with the codes to unlock this problem. I spoke with a friend who works for BMW. He said that I need a DIS program 22 for the unlock code. He had said that everyone from the shop threw out the old program and BMW will not give it to him(safety reasons). I hoping someone out there will be able to help me out there.

So are you saying that your car has a TV tuner installed in it but the TV option doesn't appear on the OBC or are you saying that you can't watch TV while the car is in drive?

And if it's the first one, you are sure you have a TV tuner because that's kinda rare for a US car.

Only if it has the option in the boot.

Open the boot and pull down the flap where the sat nav disc goes.
Have a look for additional boxes next to the Sat nav computer.
If there are none then sorry no TV option installed.

Well TIS and Alldata draw blanks. Does the monitor switch over to a blank screen or does the display not change at all away from the normal OBC display?

If you get nothing AT ALL not even OBC data, radio info then you have a blown screen - time for a 16:9 upgrade???!!

Sorry for the late response but it does have the tV tuner box in the boot. The screen fluters at times to show something but then nothing. The contrast, tint, etc. shows up channels are able to be changed vioces are heard just no screen. I had my friend hook up his BMW comp to the car to try different codes but no success. He even had the scren come on, but for only a second.

I would double check the antenna then. Sounds like it's either not hooked up or somethings wrong. If you pull the two black slender cables with silver tips that are connected to the TV tuner in the trunk/boot & you don't get a noticable difference in picture/sound than before (it should be much worse) then the antenna is not doing it's job. :buttrock
