Thinking about adding an MSD DIS4 (+DIS2?) ingnition module to 96' M3. What the pitfalls? pros/cons etc.. I am sure at least one of you has tried to do this.

And yours has 6 coil packs, right? kanipso 12-07-2004, 07:15 AM Of course it's six packs.. According to MSD I need to install a DIS4 and a DIS2 as BMW does not multiplex the coil trigger signal like some other makes do. They also recomend the installation of 3 dual channel tach adapters that provide feedback to the DME letting it know that the coil discharged.. I guess my question is... Is it worth all this trouble? I NEED some of the features like the two stage rev limmiter and would LIKE the added performance and efficiency (sp?) kanipso 12-07-2004, 09:43 AM C'mon, I know some of you guys have done this!!! badmonkey 12-07-2004, 10:58 AM AA installs MSD. Worth it? Doubt it. ............................ kanipso 12-07-2004, 12:47 PM Everything that I've seen AA do has kicked aZZ. żż B.Watts 12-07-2004, 12:54 PM In that case, it must be awesome... AA RULEZ YO!!! Erik@EDGE 12-07-2004, 01:04 PM out of curiousity, how much $$ are you looking at to piece together the MSD stuff? Would probably be easier and give you more options to go with the TEC3 plug and play solution. |
