Thinking about adding an MSD DIS4 (+DIS2?) ingnition module to 96' M3. What the pitfalls? pros/cons etc.. I am sure at least one of you has tried to do this.

Muchos gracias :help

Last time i read the MSD catalog they are for either 2 coil pack or 4 coil pack cars. And yours has 6 coil packs, right?

Of course it's six packs.. According to MSD I need to install a DIS4 and a DIS2 as BMW does not multiplex the coil trigger signal like some other makes do. They also recomend the installation of 3 dual channel tach adapters that provide feedback to the DME letting it know that the coil discharged..

I guess my question is... Is it worth all this trouble? I NEED some of the features like the two stage rev limmiter and would LIKE the added performance and efficiency (sp?)

AA installs MSD. Worth it? Doubt it.

out of curiousity, how much $$ are you looking at to piece together the MSD stuff? Would probably be easier and give you more options to go with the TEC3 plug and play solution.
