hey gents...does anybody know what the top speed is on the new 4.8 x5? The bmw site says its 153 (electronically limited). Has anyone heard of any w/o the limiter?

Actually I heard the 4.8 and the 4.6 are aerodynamically limited not electronically limited...so there is no means for "removing" the limiter...Also obviously the more horsepower you add the faster your top speed can become...

i thought that they were drag limited too, but bmw's site says they're electronically limited. Dont know...

Easiest test, find an open road and run up the speedometer. If it is electronically limited it will stop and begin to cut fuel around 150mph. This is similar to the E46 M3.
