I am trying to replace the upper steering spindle (the piece that the steering wheel bolts onto). The threads became damaged when removing the steering wheel (don't ask) and it needs to be replaced before I can remount the steering wheel.

Has anyone done this? :eek:

It's a bit unclear how much of the steering column I need to remove to replace this piece. :dunno

I'd prefer not to rip the whole thing apart if I don't have to.
