Mabye I have been reading too much about speakers and fiber glass and components and tons of other things, but I havnt been able to answer this question.

Why not make an enclosure out of say, aluminum, or mabye steel if available? What would happen if I fabricated a box for 2 10 inch subs an powered em up? Just a thought, not that I would ever do it cause I have NEVER heard of it, I just want to know why not. Thanx for the input! if not done proeperly - a metal enclosure will ring - this is done in a lot of SQ cars for midbasses, etc, but generally they are lined with other materials to further deaden the enclosure.

The real question is why make it out of that when wood is so much easier to work with...where's the advantage other then it would be different....?

Because I have a welder and a grinder, but no wood working equipment, my father has a bunch of woodworking equipment, 300 miles away though, so it just saves a weekend trip back home. Thats the only reason its been on my mind
