It just started at 12 noon EST. It looks pretty cool, and they said the car to beat today is the BMW Z4.

Cars have to be completely stock. It's the SSB class, they're only allowed to have safety mods, like a roll cage.

An entire hour, and not a single person viewed this thread. I guess racing BMWs and having the Z4 win the championship doesn't interest people here. :)

different classes. The Runoffs is a total of 23 or so races at Mid Ohio. Each race is a different class. Example, 1 is GT1 which is basically amatuer Trans Am...another is filled with miatas and proteges.

For the Z4, shocks and springs have to be OEM part numbers, and can not be revalved. Amog the other things that have to remain stock are brake calipers, full interior, wheels, and everything engine related. Aside from safety modifications, the Z4 is required to run an aftermarket hardtop and a restrictor plate (don't know the size offhand). About the the only things that can be changed from stock are fluids, brake pads, and tires.

He installed my suspension and mentioned he was on Speed TV the day before. They had the Z4 sitting outfront at Bimmerhaus and it's a sweet looking car. Sounded like it had been awhile since BMW won this class. I'm happy Jim won it, he's a great guy.
