Heya, is there any way to tell a 4.6is from a 4.4 or 3.0 by the VIN #? do 4.6is' start with WBS?

I don't think you can tell by the vin. The exhaust, and the 315's out in the back usually give it away.

When I look for parts cars it doesnt give submodels, just the main model, year, and VIN#. I was hoping to not have to look through every ad to find one ;)

What parts do you need from the 46?

Just seeing if by chance I could find one that was really in bad shape and scavenge the motor for a swap into an E36. :D

Ouch, we had one that was supposed to be totalled because of an accident, they ended up fixing it, then they realized they had bent the crank in the accident. Rather than replacing the motor, they only bought the crank. I think labor was almost double what it would be for the engine swap itself.
