I gave them the car 7:45 yesterday morning, it was ready by mid afternoon today. For some reason, that doesn't inspire confidence, but maybe they're just that good at it now. They didn't fill the car up, so I don't feel bad about bringing the loaner back with 1 gallon in the tank. :D

The car feels just fine, in its limited revs anyway. I'm itching to get the 1200 mile break in over and done with so I can get on with my mods. I'm very pleased that they didn't reset the service light, so I ended up with a free oil change out of this, plus 6800 miles from now I'll get another one as part of maintenance. :buttrock

The good news was the SES light turned out to be for an "AIR HOSE" according to the service docs, not anything to do with the Euro exhaust install. :redspot

I'm halfway thru my break-in . . . God, this sucks. Keeping the ///M under 5500 rpm's in first & second gear is torture. So far, so good. Mine seems to drive the same, but I won't know until I'm out of break-in.

Good Luck!

Mine drives the same... no complaints. I went to a driving school about 50 or so miles after the breakin. No issues.

Good deal. My car was completed in one day; my service tech is good like that.

Not to sure if this is good or not but it only took them 7-8 hours to do mine.

Same deal. One day, no gas. Did the track after 700m break in. The mechanic said that would not be a problem.
Runs just fine.

OK, that's it . . . I'm warming my car up tomorrow morning and after that, we're going to 8000 rpms.

I can't take this 1200 break-in anymore. I'm only at 700 miles.

It's time to put down some rubber :alright

:D

I don't know if I'm going to make it either. I'm at 40 miles and I'm doing my best not to foam at the mouth. It is interesting to drive with the 5k limit though. I realize that even that limited range is still plenty quick.

I'm going to use the time to pick up some parts and get ready for the ultimatemod project.

I've done about 6 so far, they only really take about 4 hours.

Mine was done in 4.2 hours. I did 500 mile break in. The car pulls good, I didnt let them do the software update though, oh well I guess we will see if my friend who is the shop foreman was correct about the breakin period, its been about 2 weeks, and no probs...YET!

If you have SMG, you should get the software update. My SMG works a lot more intelligently now. It used to really tweak me that the 1-2 shift occurred almost immediately when I pulled out of a parking lot and turned out into traffic in A mode, even A5. Now it seems to shift a bit higher.

A mode always bothered me, even though I used to use it lot more for the first couple years I had the car. Like I said the 1-2 was very short, and unless you kept your foot on the gas almost to the floor there was no way to stop it. Letting off meant it would shift ASAP. However, all the other shifts wouldn't occur if you let off. Like I'd be accelerating in A4 or A5, and when I'd get to the top of third I'd take my foot off the gas. The car wouldn't shift until it dropped almost 2k off the tach. Stupid.

It is much much better now.
