Is it common for 540 to have bad mass airs flow sensors.
I got a 99 540 IT with 34,000 wants to take off when you start slowing down and surges a bit at a light runs fine I keep resetting light comes back a few days later shows mixture control on and off idel code-OF 1C 1D any suggestions I think it is the mass air what you all think

yes... there is a recall on the 99 540's on the MAF. Not sure what mileage it goes up to ...


someone found a CHEAP MAF (that had a same part # as the OEM BMW) for under 200.00 (factory is 300 or something like that)

some have had luck with cleaning the MAF (a delicate procedure) ... but be prepared to buy a new on if this does not work
