Mad Dog 20/20 11-19-2004, 05:33 PM Rob,
These look very nice!
Is there a warranty with this item? If so, what does it consist of? Specifically, I've seen other CF engine covers turn a yellow/green hue after repeated heat-cycles. Any warranty as to that?
Thanks.

The manufacturer assures us that this "dry carbon" technology will not discolor the way the "wet carbon" process-made pieces will.
Barring obvious external damage or other abnormal damage (cleaning with solvent, etc.), I'll gladly put a 6-month warranty on these. Frankly, if there's no problem in the first month, there should not be any problem for the reasonable usage span of the product.

Mad Dog 20/20 11-19-2004, 06:24 PM Because I have the S50 intake manifold on my S52 motor, I would need the S52 valve cover and S50 fuel rail cover (a mix-match of sorts). Could you do this?

It looks to me like the S50/S52 fuel rail covers are interchangeable... if you're willing to try it out, I'd give you a full return privilege (less shipping) if you want to try out a complete S52 set.

The rail covers are different because the intake runners on the S50 are much larger . . . so the "teeth" of the covers are spaced/shaped differently. An S52 rail cover will not fit over an S50 manifold.
The manifold swap is a popular e36 mod, so you will probably want to make the mix-match cover set-up available.
Rob Levinson 11-19-2004, 07:35 PM I should have clarified... the fuel rail covers on these CF engine covers appear to be interchangeable. The openings for the runners appear to be the same size.
As the design itself is a close semblance of the original, but is not a duplicate, it would make sense that one design would fit both.

Ahhhhh . . . sounds/looks good.
pescadito 11-22-2004, 08:49 PM Rob, Just received my covers and they look great. Best carbon fiber covers I've seen at any price, including my current set that I paid $500 bucks for.
Any plans on completing the set and making the radiator cover too?
MJFX328 11-22-2004, 09:45 PM How long will this go on? I want a set bad but no cash at the moment. When and how much will the price go up if it does.
m3mobbin 11-23-2004, 01:04 AM I'm definately interested. How much for M50 covers at the GB price??

Glad you like the parts! The quality of this manufacturer impressed me enough to bring these parts to the USA.

Let's just say there are some CF parts in the works that may surprise you quite a bit... prototype parts on cars running around in NJ right now. :)

There's no definite date for a price increase. Call this a "free-form marketing experiment" to see how far we will keep developing our CF program.
What I can say is that our current inventory is depleting rapidly (UUC running out of stock on a part? Noooo... :D ).

It's not a "Group Buy" - this is just an introductory discounted price.

THX!

Don't make us wait too long. XMas is around the corner! I'm on a CF kick... I hope you guys make some CF center consoles.
Dirtsquirt 11-24-2004, 10:59 PM Any chance of these coming to an e30 near me?

Thanks!
GBs are a tough situation for us.
The StrutBarbarian (http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/STB/) definitely works with ASC. You can see the clearance for the ASC module in this pic:

1138!
Rob Levinson 11-24-2004, 11:08 PM Any chance of these coming to an e30 near me?
The issue with most E30 engines is that the cover is a functional piece; remove it and you are staring at valves in their oil bath. If you have an imperfectly formed cover, you have oil leaking everywhere. There are also the heat issues to consider, which is why the original E30 M20 and M10 engine covers are cast aluminum:

tomas3314 11-26-2004, 03:19 PM Damn UUC!! Just when I get my car to where I feel I don't need anything else for a while they go and do this.......Now I want one. :stickoutt
Steve@Edge 11-28-2004, 01:31 PM Rob... any chance of just selling the valve cover - cover only (sans fuel rail cover?)
...I tend to like the exposed fuel rail. Dig reading the firing order... (simple pleasures)
Steve
mag187 11-28-2004, 02:21 PM Two questions: Can I buy the valve cover independantly? Can you *please* make a radiator cover!?
Thanks.
Rob Levinson 11-28-2004, 02:28 PM Sorry, with this product, they are sourced as complete sets and cannot be broken up.
It may be possible in the future, but not at this time.
As for other parts, we've got lots of things we're looking to do.

Understood! Well, if you guys ever manage to sell them separately, keep us informed.
Very trick looking peices... I'm generally not drawn to stuff like this...

95DinanM3 11-28-2004, 07:11 PM Nice. The engine cover should match the Jim C intake nicely. I will be placing my order soon.......
Mp0wer2384 11-29-2004, 04:19 PM Order placed
Iding SIII 11-29-2004, 10:14 PM Recieved my covers today! The quality is Excellent (much better than my Dinan cover) :stickoutt
cielo 11-30-2004, 03:45 AM These look pretty good. Are they bare or are they affixed with a UUC decal? Does anyone with a DINAN CF intake have these? I'm just wondering how well they'd match...
