WOW! first LID, now Etown. Where the hell do they expect people to race now? Its likeing shooting your own feet, street racing will jump up even more.

Come on, how could you tell people not to race in public roads, yet close the legal venues??

Dude that sucks. This is getting ridiculous. Its not the soccer moms and such, its land developers who get these bills into congress from campaign donations. New Jersey is crowded as it is, pretty soon there are going to be more houses than people. I hate the fact that when any type of property is up for sale its used for resedential or commercial development. Jersey is the greatest state in the US, but we have quite possibly the worst government there. I mean look at the fairy, sorry I meant McGreevy.

It has nothing to do with racing, seems like people are complaining about the noise, I think I would too. Etown is unmuffled, I could see it going to a decibel limit like Lime rock.

Acoustic engineers (my Uncle is one) can tell you, there are ways to plant trees, or walls that could be erected properly that could assauge everyone... it's a shame if E-town goes away....

I agree, a lot of places have put up trees and walls. E-town isn't going away without a fight though, they just their road course approved and built.

the owner of etown is being offered double of what the property is worth, they condo builder will pay him $$$ a lot of cash!

Its funny though, E town has preety bad track prep, lousy service, and everytime they have a problem, they run towards us. I am not saying I support E town going away, but they should definetly start to run there track better.

Agreed, track prep has been spotty the last few yrs, used to be much better...

its not going anywhere, the brothers that own it said they wouldent sell out a year ago. it is a prime east coast nhra major even track and dragging is only getting bigger, plus the moto cross they have there along with carting now. they have been trying (the state) to get them to close forever but they wont be shut down. more of a problem has been occuring at island for years about sound violations but they havent gotten the boot yet

Old thread, but any new updates? Im 5 or so minutes from the track, and I can hear the announcer from my house during big meets. Its not a big deal. Sure you can hear the roar from big meets, but its only on certain days.

They updated their info on their site about the road course, so I dont see how they are going away.

I don't drag race but I signed for the cause.
