This kid in my school got a 300zx (non-tt) and thinks its the fastest and everything. I have math with him and we were talking, and his friend was like you guys should race, I said sure.

Im chilling at Wendys getting something to eat before heading in to work. Friend calls and is like, hey I got alex with me and you guys are racing. So I waited and they showed up. I said I don't know, because my back tire was getting low, (pulled out about a 1 1/2 inch screw out!), and he was like nice excuse. I was like fuck off, lets go.

First race. We line up waiting for the light. Light turns green and jump in front, and start taking off. Shift to 2nd, about car length in front, shift 3rd 1 1/2 car links in front, 4th and 5th were about the same with him slowly gaining. His excuse, I missed 2nd gear.

Second race. We line up and I noticed the cars in front were turning, so I thought if we triggered the light it was going to change real quick. Again, I am out in front, and its about the same until I get to the end of 4th and he was gaining. We passed the marker for the quarter mile, so I shut down because there is a car in front of me.

My 97-328i = 189hp (No mods.)
300zx (non-tt) = 220hp (No mods.)

140k on the clock and still killing. I love bimmers!

Nice kill man. I thought a 328i had 191hp and I'm pretty sure it has like 201tq. Either way afew mods bro and you'll decimate him. Such as chip, exhaust, CAI, and pullies. Then again he also can start modding and change that around, but yeah as long as he doesnt mod and you do obviously things will change drastically. From what I've seen with 328's they react to modding very well. Unlike my slowas* 325i.

Im thinking of doing the Eurospeed m50 manifold kit. Someone is selling it used for 330 and looks like there are some nice gains from it.

Good kill, non-TT Zs are slow as molasses, believe me, I know - no point in sinking money into it to mod it. Now TTs are a different story :devillook

98328i, was your M50 manifold a straight up bolt on, or did you need extra things?

From experience a good condition Z32TT will edge out a 350Z stock vs. stock. Also the Z32TT is more responsive to mods thanks to the turbos. Stage III with an intake ecu and exhaust and a Z32TT will make over 400 crank hp. They are insane cars and damn sexy. NAs have a good rear end though for highway pulls they are decent cars but just not that fast.

No you are right, the 328i has 190hp, when the engine size was increased from 2.5L to 2.8L hp went up by one as well to 190hp :)

Nice kill though man

They start pulling up high though. I noticed towards the end after we passed the quarter mile marker, he was picking up.

/\ m50 intake, i just bolted right up at first, had absolutley no bottom end torque, then had my throttle body overbored by 8mm, new butterfly, zm3 intake elbow and fuel re-mapping, got all my torque back and roughly 15-20 more hp up high im guessing after all was done.... great mod imo...

Just so you know how fast an NA can be from highway speeds:

My 91 Z has a K&N, B&B catback and suspension mods. Nothing crazy. Call it "stage 1" if you will. The other day I toyed with a non-supercharged white 99+ Saleen. I used to own three Mustangs, so I know what to look for. The guy had two other passengers and wanted to mess around from a ~60mph roll. Only did one pull, but it went like this: 3rd gear, completely even, shifted up to 4th and started to inch away. By 120 the nose of his car was behind my door. z!nG.
