Maybe some of you guys know this car/seller?
My sister lives in Seattle and is willing to help facilitate the inspection but she doesn't know of a good shop (BMW shop).
thx

If you need a PPI, tell the owner to take the car to Carb Conn in Kirkland.
http://www.carbconn.com/
The guys there are very competent and know about BMW tuning. They are Eurosport and AA dealer so they know SC. Where in Austin do you live? I might be able to drive it back for you :D , thinking of going back to visit early next year.
Good luck,
Tony

Excellent! Thanks Tony. Exactly what I was looking for.
How far is Kirkland from Seattle 'proper'?
That is a very interesting proposition. I was just looking at flights, shipping costs, all that. If the car checks out not sure how I'll get it here yet. I had plenty of options now I have on more :redspot
That's a helluva drive. 3 days minimum is my guess :dunno

Kirkland is N of Seattle. About the same distance as Pflugerville to downtown Austin. I shipped my car from Austin to Seattle for about 1100 a year ago so probably about the same, may be a little more. I am surprised you found the car, usually price for the Ms is less in TX. What about the Turbo M3 Mike Schofeld is selling in Dallas? Might work out better for you...he's looking for a black M3 as well.

Yeah I've talked to Mike about his car. That is a sweet ride. I was seriously contemplating working something out with him on a trade. But, in the end, I decided to keep mine. Can't believe it hasn't sold yet. If that car is still for sale early next year, I might have to reconsider.
But in the meantime, I'm looking for a 2nd M that will more that than likely will become a dedicated track car. Found this one with a SC and a low selling price (almost too good to be true and I have a feeling that it probably is).
I checked on shipping and got an online quote for ~900 but I'm sure that doesn't include tax, insurance or whatever else is involved.
I don't suppose you would mind taking a look at it? I know I just asked a lot so no worries if it'll put you out.
Anyway, give me a shout if/when you make it back to Austin. I live up north at 35 and Parmer basically (Pflugerville practically).

If you're using this car as a dedicated track car. It wouln't last too long in the summer heat in TX, especially at track temp. Just get a NA car and put some mods in it and go tracking. You can ask Bill K at Soulspeed. He's an instructor for DE and knows alot of BMW.
Why not use your current car as track car...we all do it?? :D
