View Full Version : What's the difference btw SS header v1 &v2? lilgrasshopper 11-09-2004, 03:17 PM How can you tell? And why is there 2 types? MAB Badgerbimmer 11-09-2004, 03:27 PM I believe it is simply version 1 and version 2. The second version has a location for the O2 sensors and exhaust temp probe. lilgrasshopper 11-09-2004, 03:59 PM I checked my SS header and there's one big hex nut on each side...so I guess it means I have V1?? Is there gonna be any complications with installing and SES lights with V1??? MAB Badgerbimmer 11-09-2004, 04:08 PM I'd call BMP, the SS importer. They generally are very helpful. http://www.bmpdesign.com/ The hex nuts may be were the O2 sensors go? lilgrasshopper 11-09-2004, 04:11 PM Here's a pix of my header. http://img10.exs.cx/img10/3666/header34.jpg BMWguy206 11-09-2004, 04:31 PM Here's a pix of my header. http://img10.exs.cx/img10/3666/header34.jpg Whats the part number on the SS sticker on the header? lilgrasshopper 11-09-2004, 04:33 PM 78.75.01 BMWguy206 11-09-2004, 05:01 PM 78.75.01 Those are the version 1 headers. Mainly for the Euro Spec M3. The V2 headers are part number 043901 and retails for $2143.00 M3gator 11-09-2004, 07:51 PM if anyone has offered a group buy on the supersprint headers ..... I could justify them on my Christmas list then ... you know how it goes .. look how much money I saved honey ...... :) Those are the version 1 headers. Mainly for the Euro Spec M3. The V2 headers are part number 043901 and retails for $2143.00 BMWguy206 11-09-2004, 08:01 PM The SS V2 headers are not in stock and Supersprint NA will be getting them on the 2nd week of December. m3j0n 11-10-2004, 04:47 AM do the v1s throw a CEL and the V2s dont? or what? lilgrasshopper 11-11-2004, 01:25 PM what exactly does "euro spec" mean anyways? I just want to know if I'm gonna have CEL on...provided that I'll have ss racing cat. Can someone please help me out? I haven't got a definitive answer to this yet. MAB Badgerbimmer 11-11-2004, 02:14 PM I just had the OEM Euro headers and SS race cats installed 450 miles no CEL. The exhaust probe and O2 probes are installed. Still running stock software as I haven't gotten around to installing the Shark software. lilgrasshopper 11-11-2004, 02:42 PM How is the euro header different from SS? JTsangNJ 11-11-2004, 04:45 PM I spoke with Chris From Supersprint today since I also have the version 1 headers. The only difference is the version 2 has the provision for the EGT sensor. He says the car will throw a fault code if the EGT isn't installed. He recomended to cut the bung off the OEM headers and weld it in the same location on the SS headers. Or get a new bung and have it welded in the same location. Any reputable exhaust shop can do this. lilgrasshopper 11-11-2004, 04:52 PM So a total of how many bungs need to be drilled and welded? Dave04M3 11-11-2004, 06:26 PM I spoke with Chris From Supersprint today since I also have the version 1 headers. The only difference is the version 2 has the provision for the EGT sensor. I have the V. 2 headers and the V.1 sensors were for Euro cars since they didn't need a rear 02 bung as you plugged the rear 02 sensors on the back of the cat pipe or on the catless S Pipe. Dave. m3j0n 11-12-2004, 02:54 AM im sorry, but once again $2200+ is fuckign insane for headers... lilgrasshopper 11-12-2004, 03:32 AM I know what you mean...like spending 60k on a car...when that could be someone's house. |
