I dont think my 95 M3 has a rev limiter, all the chips ive seen bump the limiter up a few hundred rpms, but Ive reved mine all the way up to 7500, dont worry, ive only done it once before I realized it would do that. Is it possible that the rev meter is not calibrated correctly or do I have more serious problems?

7500 RPM is normal for a Real M3 :devillook

:rofl
....it's not normal. crack open your computer case and see if you have an aftermarket chip in there.

Is that covered in the 3 series manual? Or is there somewhere else I can find out how to do that? :help :help

unplug the battery
wait 30 minutes for the DME to completely discharge
ground yourself by touching the car (metal)
pull out the computer - open the hood, you'll see a big rubber plate in front of the passanger side of the firewall with a large cable loom going into it
open up the case - not sure if you need a phillips head, torx etc. :dunno
take a picture of what you see - post it up. ...or the chip should be labeled from where it's from.
good luck,
-Ron

looks normal to me. but what do i know :eyecrazy . That white piece on top covered the chip directly below it.
