View Full Version : Possible Front M3 Replica Bumper Group Buy *Now Closed*

I bought one of these bumpers last week and the vendor
would be willing to do a group buy $250 plus shipping.
It comes with moldings and the mesh and lip are integrated
on the bumper. He needs 10 to do a group buy.

As far as installation took me about 2 to 3 hours because
I had to use everything from the old bumper to the new one.

"Pork chops", brake ducts,
fog light brackets. and bumper reinforcement were transferred from my old bumper as well as bolts and screws.

Thanks for the invite Supark.

Here are the details of the bumper:

Full ABS Construction - excellent fitment.
Lower lip is integrated
Grille is included
Moldings are included
New foglight *bumper* brackets included (not the full fog bracket thats behind the fog lamp), but the one that houses the pivoting joint. (youll need it on M3 bumpers since they are longer).

So basically everything you need for the conversion is included. You use your stock bumper carrier. Easy bolt on.

If we can get 10 buyers prepaid we can do $250+shipping. Shipping will depend on your location but can range from $85-140 due to the size of the box and since we will have to use truck freight in many places. Typical bumper shipping rate is $100-115 but we can calculate exact cost once we get your address.

These are very popular in the Road Race crowd as they are OEM quality and cheaper than from the dealer when people crash and need replacements.

Weve sold many and they fit great.

Right now we only have one left in stock. We expect a container leaving on the 17th and arriving in January; so that would be the earliest they will arrive. Of course one lucky person can get theirs now. If you guys can wait we would happily do this gb for you. The only thing is we need to have the order in by this week to get enough on the container.

We can also offer ABS M3 Side skirts for $150/pair if purchased with this GB (can be shipped together and not incur any additional shipping fees)
Sides skirts only, youll need the jack hole covers and any plastic clips and such from the dealer. Not too expensive.

Also we'll bring back the Crystal Fog Deal for a insane deal of $65/pair. Comes with all brackets. (again we can put this in the bumper box and not incur any additional shipping fees)

So if this is really going to happen we will really need an accurate count and get payments in by this week to make sure there are enough to go around.

Locals can pick up. CA Residents add 8.25% tax.

Awesome deal. I'm definitely in for the bumper. I would get the skirts too but I already have a pair. The plastic mounting clips are cheap from the dealer. Both sides cost me about 5 bucks or so. I just bought the crystal fogs recently from your GB about a month ago and they're incredible. Even better pricing too if its free shipping. I might even pick up an extra set just in case. If your contact can get the bumper cover shipped for less than I think we should consider it - $80 and higher for shipping seems a bit steep, I shipped all four of my wheels and tires for that much and the combined weight was over 160 pounds...

Could you get an answer back with shipping estimates for your contact?

So I just talked to Will over at Emotion Garage and he explained the situation a bit more.

Basically, they need to know if we can get 10 people together for the group buy by Sunday, because they have to get the additional bumpers onto their container. He needs the bumper prepaid either with a credit card number or money order - but again they won't receive the shipment until January.

He also said that people around the same area can have a few bumpers shipped to the same address and dramatically save on shipping costs - that's something we'd need to figure out amongst ourselves. He quoted me between $80-$100 for shipping to Seattle due to the size of the box - which does make sense (I checked bavauto.com just for reference - and it costs $85 to ship an M-technic bumper to me).

So basically we need 10 people to put down the cash - who's in?

I bought this a month ago and Will said I would
be included in the number from the group buys
and will give me a group buy price. They are pretty
cool to deal with and are helpful in your questions.
The installation was very simple. You will need
everything, I mean everything from the old bumper
including the pork chops and brake ducts.
Installation about 4 hours.
Paint cost me $200 from a local body shop.

You can get the M3 bumper conversion kit for about $340 from pacific bmw - the OEM bumper conversion doesn't include a lip or a grill though. I think you can get the grill for $40 and a lip for around $125? So if you add that up - comes to $505 plus shipping for all the stuff you get with this bumper. I guess the only tradeoff is that you've gotta like the look of the lip.

well, how does it compare to the OEM bumper? I drove to pacific BMW in glendale cali and with the whole kit total came up to a little over 600 dollars. This was without shipping. The special discount is for online only not in person. I looked at the costs for both and they both relatively come out the same. Shipping kills the online price. If this is a quality piece that will be hard to tell that's fake, I'll buy one. Lets do this soon, only time I have to paint my car is in December. Thanks

Answers to a few questions:

The bumper comes in black ABS plastic as in rcristobals pics. We do not offer paint for them as it will definitely look better if a local shop does a photo-paint match.

Bumper from the dealer is extremely expensive if you add up all the parts, take supark's example:

"You can get the M3 bumper conversion kit for about $340 from pacific bmw - the OEM bumper conversion doesn't include a lip or a grill though. I think you can get the grill for $40 and a lip for around $125? So if you add that up - comes to $505 plus shipping for all the stuff you get with this bumper. I guess the only tradeoff is that you've gotta like the look of the lip."

You still have to add in the M3 Molding strips which can be up to ~$150.
So youre looking at over $650 *without* shipping from a dealer.

The included grill can be removed and you can install a slat grill but youll need some additional hardware. Note the included grille is not exact to stock. Please view the image from rcristobals pics.

As for shipping, we dont make nothing off shipping, if you want to call your own freight you can but its all going to cost between $80-125 depending where you are. The bumpers will go via truck freight because UPS will not take them due to the size.

A suggestion for Canadians is if you have a friend near the border to ship it to the US address and drive over and pick it up there.

Also you can save freight if multiple bumpers are shipped to one address and a few of you get together and pick it up.

Seriously we need to get a count and start getting payments in or we wont have enough for everyone. DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, if we have 10 participants, we will contact you all for payment information on MONDAY. The container will arrive sometime in mid January. If we miss this container it will be another month and a half.

Payment information:
We will take credit cards for those that ship to confirmed home addresses. For those want to ship with other people, we will require money order/cashiers check or the one person we ship to must pay for the entire quantity. We will charge $100usd as a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit when orders are placed. When the bumpers arrive in January, we will charge the remaining amount.

Thanks to those on this forum that vouched for us. We plan on sponsoring this forum in January. Any San Francisco Bay Area customers are invited to drop by. We are brick and mortar so were here to serve you.

Many of you have contacted us regarding the one bumper we have in stock. We have decided that to make this fair, once the list is complete and payments done, we will do a random lottery to determine who gets it.

supark

Does the bumper come ready-to-paint, or does it need to be primed first?

emotiongarage

To get this rolling, we have created a link for those that are ready to order:

http://www.emotiongarage.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EG&Product_Code=EGM3ABSBUMPER-GB

Item is not primed but the ABS is smooth so it should be no problem for your body shop. They should always prime it before paint.

I'll tell ya what guys, the price Emotion Garage is offering on Shipping is honestly what shipping costs, I can bet they aren't making a dime off of that... Shipping usually ranges from $125+

They might not be making money off shipping, but definately aren't using a cheaper shipping company, either. I sent an M3 front bumper cover, with brake ducts and grille from 60 miles north of Seattle to Miami for right around $60 via FedEx. UPS wanted twice as much, as did USPS. That $60 included an extra surcharge since we don't have an 'official' FedEx drop point.

I don't mean to dump on this thread, just suggesting a well known, reliable shipper that's cheaper. It seems that a lot of people are holding off due to shipping costs, and this could help both seller and buyers.

Your own freight must be shipping to your billing address and have delivery confirmation/tracking.

If you have a friend pick up we will require full payment by money order/cashiers check. We will hold your credit card as a deposit, but the entire amount $250 must be sent before the item is picked up. This is just for fraud prevention.

Just to respond to this post. The bumper on eBay is not the same as ours. Ours are ABS black plastic, materials are made from a certified factory that makes oem replacement bumpers. We have tested fitting on the bumper many times and it is excellent. Please view images on first post to see a photo of the item.

So I guess we can't use the distributor I was talking to because they're not a sponsoring vendor. Would you be able to match the $210 shipped price they were offering for the Rieger Infinity I lip?

I currently own a 2 door e36(non m3) and I was wondering if I installed oem m3 bumper or this bumper do I need to get just the bumper cover or do I need the metal part too?

And btw if anyone would sell me their old m3 bumper cover I would be interested if its scratched up or anything its still ok I would prefer black but anycolor is fine.

i just ended getting the ebay m3 bumper (linked to earlier in the thread). altho i havn't installed it yet, it seems like a quality part. the only thing i don't like is the moldings, they are smooth unlike the ones i had on my bumper (i think, i don't have it here to look at..).

it's gonna take me a while to put it on but i'll prolly start a thread when i do, so i just tought i'd let y'all know that ebay bumper seems good.

also it looks like ABS plastic like described, but someone wanted to be sure it wasn't urethane, how could i know if it's ABS or urethane?

pretty sure ABS and urethane are both good, what you want it made out of

i know they're both good, but i think ABS is better, and someone was wondering if it actually was abs or if it was urethane, so i was trying to figure out if it actually is abs.

We apologize for any delay. We finally got everything unloaded last friday and we're getting them into the warehouse. We're trying to get these in the smallest boxes possible so buyers are not charged crazy amounts for shipping.

M3 mouldings are smooth. Non-M3 mouldings have that textured moulding.

Coupe E36- Check your email, you should have your shipping and final total. We have it boxed up for you already.

from what, matt said.. the 100$ down we thought we put down.. they never really actually charged it, so u will still end up paying around 350$ or so ?

emotiongarage

We decided that we would hold off on charging the participants and just do one single charge once the item was here. We took good faith that if the customer provided their information they would not back out.

Thanks to those that came through, it makes it easier for us to do group buys and offer lower pricing. Unfortunately someone did back out and we might have to pre-charge deposits next time because we are now stuck with an extra bumper.

The price is $250 + actual shipping. California add tax.

We'll get your bumper out today Cory, I'll personally make sure the shipping dept. handles it.

Thanks again all, if we are left with any bumpers we will go down our PM list and contact those who are interested. Pricing is a little higher for non-GB participants. Please PM us if you are interested to be on the list. Thanks.

Hey emotionGarage.. this bumper is a direct bolt onto the stock points correct, no modifications needed ? because my bodyshop said they will just paint it, and wait till its dried and everything before i bring my car in, that way i wont have to go so long w/out my car.. but if theres a few modifications needed, then i would need to bring car there, so they can do the modifications before painting.. well let me know, thanks..

emotiongarage

The fitment is pretty much perfect, there is no need for modifications other than using the stock parts. Basically we recommend you first install everything from your stock bumper to the M3 one before painting. You’ll need the rebar, fog brackets, and all those little plastic nails/screws, use the new outside fog brackets included with the bumper not the stock ones(the M3 is longer). Then use the rest of the stock fog holder bracket. Once the parts are there youll know what to do (if not ask the body shop, they should be able to help figure it out). Its tough to wrestle and install those things after because you might scratch your new paint.

Pork chops and brake ducts can be installed after the bumper is mounted on your car.

If they are knowledgeable with BMWs and know how to do quality paint they should be able to do it no problem. They should always wet sand it once and primer it before paint.

*Big Tip* If you dont want your lip area painted - *Make sure you tell the body shop to mask it off!* Body shop guys dont ask so make sure you tell them!
