Congrats. Sounds awesome. Can you give some more details? For example:
Where did you get it installed? At a BMW dealer?
Can you show some pics of what exactly was installed in the glove box? Is it just an AUX jack (like they do in Mercedes), or is there a wire that plugs right into the iPod?
Do the steering wheel controls operate the iPod?
And any other info you can provide would be great. I take my iPod everywhere with me, and I'm currently using the iTrip FM Transmitter to listen to it in my X5. The iTrip does work reasonably well, but I would much prefer a direct connection to the vehicle's audio system.
Thanks!

FLY x5,
I don't have pictures but it looks like the same iPod dock connector wire that comes with your iPod.(white wire about 18" and the plug.).It lays in the glove box,and you just plug your iPod in.It's put out by BMW and the dealer installs it.You can program up to 6 genres such as...BMW1(rock),BMW2(country)etc..BMW5(favorites), BMW6(shuffle all).If you hit random button on radio,it will shuffle songs on whatever genre you have sellected. You can control volume, skip, reverse from the steering wheel. The iPod stays charged on the car power. The only drawback is,it does not work if you have NAVIGATION or a 6CD player installed in your car.You probably have to wait another year before they get around that.Hope this is enough info for you, good luck.

Thanks! Yes, that was a very informative post. Disappointed to hear that the iPod connection won't work with Navigation or 6CD - I have both, so I guess I'll have to wait until they come up with a solution. :(

I just installed my ipod adapter in my 325i. The volume output from my ipod is much much lower than my radio or regular cd-player. I have to turn my volume all the way up to get a low sound signal from my ipod. Did you experience the same problem with yours?

If you go into the audio set up (where you adjust the bass and treble, etc.) there's a setting for Aux Input level. Just turn that up to 5 and you'll be GTG.
