I have a '01 330Ci w/ the UUC short shifter installed. It has worked flawlessly until now. As I was driving home today in 3rd I suddenly heard a loud rattling noise from under shifter. It wasn't too loud but was difinitely audible over the radio with the windows up. It sounded like something like something metal loose within a plastic container...rattling around. I had access to a lift when I did the install but do not have that privilege any longer. I was wondering if any if you guys with the same shifter installed have come across this problem. I want to see if I can fix it myself before I take it to the shop. Thanks for any help you can provide.

call UUC -- they should know what may go wrong

That's very strange... if any part had come disconnected, the shifter simply would not work.

Please call us directly to discuss the symptom in greater detail, we may determine that the sound was caused by something else entirely.
