So at the last CCA autox here in SD a few weeks ago, i drove the 323i down to the event... my father doesn't want me to autox the car right now (he's just anal about it)... I just drove it down to the venue to watch... So, at the end of the day they are having fun runs and i spoke to Gordon (the autox chairman) and he says that he'll let me do a run... Its one of the last runs of the day... have a good clean run, don't push the car too much, get back to the pits with a huge smile on my face...

Two Weeks go by......

Tonight my father calls me and the following conversation ensues:
Him: "How was autoxing the 323?"
Me: "what are you talking about" (playing the moron)
Him: "There is a big picture of you driving the car on the track in this months SDCCA chapter newsletter"
Me: "Uhhhhhh....."

Yeah, so im completely boned right now... he's really pissed... since he still owns 75% of the car still god knows when i'll be able to drive it... BUT, i do have a suprise which is coming this weekend!!!! :devillook

Cheers,
Jonas

PS: people, learn from my mistakes...(put a big sign on your window saying no flash photography)

Dude....that SUCKS!!!!!!! Of ALL the pics they could throw up in there, they get you. Hell, I've been tossing my e21 around and they snubbed me, even with my class win last time. But they toss in you during the fun runs....WEAK!!!!

So I imagine you won't be driving it for a while then, huh? At least you have another 'toy' in the works to play with.

BTW, how's the HONDA!??!?!??!!??!!!???? :D

Someone in SD needs to scan the pic in... I haven't even seen it yet, but supposedly its pretty good...

H4/H1's do sorta look puppydog-like, don't they?

Jonas...lemme get this straight....it is an auto tranny....Honda....driven by a mom that knows nothing about cars.....and you didn't IMMEDIATELY check the brake pads?!!?!?!?! :stickoutt

I checked the SD chapter website, but no pics of the 323i. I'll check my mail and see if it is in there, but won't be around a computer again until Monday night....

HAHA, well if you owned a car instead of borrowing your daddys and pretending like its yours, I guess you wouldn't have that problem now would you?

Are you all ready for the GREAT update for this?

It seems that the pic in the newsletter wasn't ACTUALLY Jonas autoX'ing the 323i, it was a pic of me in the 320i taken before my radiator sprung a leak! But since Jonas had admitted to his dad that he had driven the car, he's boned now anyway. DOH!!!!

Man that sucks. This is why I go out of my way to make my cars unique.

Show this to your father.

I think you are being misjudged. Going to an event and making a special request to explore the limits of your dad's car in a controlled environment is something you should be praised for instead of punished. I understand that you broke the rules, but you did it in such a way that few children of you age have the foresight to persue. I am impressed with your willingness to go out of your way to get that knowledge in a manner that shows maturity beyond your years.

How many kids take the time to do it safely? Not many. Too many kids are street racing because their parents are against "Racing" after Fast and the furious stigmas were attached to all types of motorsports. Not only is this unfounded, but dead wrong. This is one of the safest venues for you to push the limits and learn to respect them from qualified enthusiasts who have your best interest and saftey in mind.

As a board member of the NY Chapter and administrator for the Street Survival course (www.streetsurvival.org), which you are a prime candidate for, I will defend your actions to some degree. You obviously have a clue on the correct (read:safe, legal and legitimate) way to enjoy the performance limits of your BMW. You should be encouraged to continue your education in safe car control skills, respect for the law and better driving skills in general.

Next time, be more descreet or better yet, bring your dad down to an event so he can see how safe, orginized and fun it is at an autocross.(even though I have lost the taste for it). :devillook

For real Doug?? :alright what a plot twist! :lol

His dad has been to them, he knows what they are about, how safe they are, etc, etc. But he doesn't want to risk the car being pushed too hard since it is in REALLY nice condition and IIRC is being used as a daily car. The less it is pushed, the less repairs need to be performed.

So discreet wasn't REALLY the issue, since the pic wasn't actually of him anyway (but rather of me, and his dad didn't realize it). I guess this is a lesson in "Let me SEE the evidence you have of me driving your car before I admit to anything." And to think, I was bitching about getting ignored by the local chapter when it was actually ME in there!!!

As for the car being unique, they both sorta are. Our wheels (in black and white) look fairly similar, but that's about it. I think the problem was that (according to Jonas) it was a small pic, in black and white. This makes it sorta hard to see some of the finer details of the cars, such as his euro bumper vs my removed bumper, his e30 M3 roof antenna vs my stock A pillar one. But Hell, the lack of TINT should have given it away that it wasn't me. But I guess his dad KNEW that he was going to try something like this (wouldn't we all?), and was just EXPECTING to see it in there.

...so Jonas....when are you going to run the Accord in X Class?

I would have guessed that, but since he attempts to end EVERY DAMN SENTENCE with an ellipse, he's gotta be 13 since they taught that shit in 8th grade.
