View Full Version : BMP Now Officially SUCKS!!!
uberpanzer 11-04-2004, 05:05 AM Just was browsing through the new online version of BMP's catalog. There is only ONE thing listed specifically for the e21. There are a few things listed for the M10, but you can pretty much tell that they are talking about the e30 318i (esp if they say '83-'85 after it). They do not even LIST the gauge cluster anymore! NO performance upgrades and now not even STOCK parts anymore. The '02s are gone as well. The oldest cars they list things for are the e24 and e28 cars (maybe some e23 stuf, but not much, and the same basic age as the e24 anyway).
I will never buy anything from them again unless they are the ONLY people that have it. I know that might strange ("How are you gonna buyy stuff from them if they don't offer stuff for your car?"), but I have 2 other BMW's and my g/f has one as well. They have just lost all my future business since they are now decided to ignore the older cars. I'll stick with they few companies out there that actually SUPPORT our cars.
.....sorry, had to vent.....
blitzed310 11-04-2004, 05:37 AM I could have told you that.
Only things worth getting are the engine parts.
uberpanzer 11-04-2004, 07:05 AM They don't REALLY sell those anymore though....according to the 'catalog'. At least not for the e21. They had a few things I was interested in (like the guage panel), and at least LISTED shocks and springs, and had some random suspension stuff (urethane bushings I think). But now they list NOTHING!!!!!!!
Oh well, looks like I'll be spending money with e21parts.net, TEP, Korman, and IE.
jjgbmw323 11-04-2004, 08:42 AM I noticed that they do not support the e21 anymore. Before they had rotots, and supersprint mufflers, now they are not listed - I wonder if they can still get them.
Bav Auto 1-800-535-2002
Maxiamilain 1-800-950-2002
still support our cars.

ichiwan2 11-04-2004, 09:22 AM Check out Walloth & Nesch.
They even have performance parts from Schrick (cams and valve springs, valves), Hartge strut brace, Alpina etc.
http://www.wallothnesch.com
Very quick response via email - less than 12 hours for them to reply.
Shipping is also very reasonable. You can request for cheapest and they don't try to tell you to use Fedex etc, which can be very expensive for heavier stuff.
blitzed310 11-04-2004, 01:15 PM Walloth & Nesch is a good source, although out of all the vendors I know, they are the most expensive, not to mention the overseas shipping is through the roof.
I paid about $40 just to ship my lenses over here, and they were in a 8"x6" box weighing about 1 pound and it still took about 15 days to get here :nono
MattE21 11-04-2004, 01:26 PM Yeah, BMP isn't good anymore... my biz has already headed elsewhere.. I ordered spacers, lugs, and shocks from them 6 months ago, they came poorly packaged, and days late.
jjgbmw323 11-04-2004, 04:50 PM hello, i called BMP, they are sperating there catalogs into three different ones, the one that we just got on the modern cars, a mini catalog, and a "classic car" catalog that includes the 2002 and e21. That calatoq will not be out till January time frame.
However for the record, they still have e21 parts.
later,
Joe
Good, now i will be able to do all of my ordering from the classic car catalogue... :devillook (Jonas has a secret!!! :evil2 )
Yonkers320is 11-04-2004, 07:59 PM you can also try www.bimmerparts.com lots of stuff for the e21 and www.partsbmw.com
MattE21 11-05-2004, 12:01 AM I just got my BMP Design in the mail tonight .. good mag, on the inside cover, they mention that they have the Classic catalog avail. for us .. we just have to go sign up for it.
AEGA4 11-05-2004, 06:24 PM Just to let you guys know I had a meeting with BMP this week at the SEMA show. I expressed my concern to them that they are not listing anything for the older BMW's. As stated in an earlier post they are coming out with a vintage BMW catalogue in December. They are going to supply a lot more stuff for our cars it sounds like to me. Adam
uberpanzer 11-09-2004, 02:21 AM ....maybe I'll be retracting this then....but I'll have to wait until I see the catalog....
Chris@Sprsprnt 11-09-2004, 12:17 PM uberpanzer,
I'm sorry for the confusion. We are building a specific catalog for the classic BMWs that will be available shortly. The best way to ensure that you receive one is to sign up at www.bmpdesign.com and then request a Classic Catalog. In the mean time please refer to any one of our older print catalogs or please call at 800 648 7278 and we will be happy to walk you through the classic parts. Thank you all for the continued support! Chris-BMP Design
MattE21 11-09-2004, 01:16 PM cool. i just signed up for my classic catalog. any idea when it will be complete?
crotter 11-09-2004, 01:30 PM it seems like you guys know about lots of places to find parts for the older e21's and '02s... Anybody know of a good online retailer where I can find parts for my E3 Bavaria? Its a 1971 Euro car. One of the parts I am having a hard time finding is a front left turn signal lens....
Sportye30 11-09-2004, 04:03 PM They have always sucked doug! I remember back in the day when we had kickbacks at your old house, when you were saying they were the shiznit! Sucks tho.

crotter 11-09-2004, 05:29 PM They carry E3 parts http://www.wallothnesch.com/index.htm
WOW! thanks alot I hadent realized they carry E3 stuff... they even have the exact part I need!! Too bad its gonna cost 95 Euro...
uberpanzer 11-10-2004, 02:58 AM It will cost so much due to the car no longer being in production, and most of the spares are probably already bought up. The older the cars get (past a certain age), the more the parts cost. Some of our e21 parts are cheap, some are getting pricey now.
Chris - Thanks for taking the time to come in here and chime in. I am glad to know NOW (after starting this) that BMP is going to still support the older cars. I had thought that it was great that our cars were still supported by BMP in the past, so I guess you have seen my frustration when I saw NOTHING in the revamped online catalog for the cars. Is there going to be access to the Classic Catalog online? It would be nice, but I do realize that those of us with these older cars tend to not be as net savy as people with the newer cars (present company excluded of course ;) ). Anyway, now that this has all been cleared up, I'll be registering (with my NEW address, vice the old ones you have on file currently) for both the Classic and regular catalogs, since the e30's will need parts too.....
