I'm in EG! What's up Tom? What color is your 325 and whereabouts in SS/EG are you? I'm in Laguna West. There's so many 3 series in EG it's not even funny.

Hmmm, dirty LTWs, blacked out grills, AA exhaust, clear tails (non-OEM), corners, and sidemarkers. And, the latest mod, since yesterday afternoon: cracked windshield and deep scratch on the hood, thanks to flying piece of metal on I-5! I swear I've never seen so much crap on the road till I moved to Sac from the Bay Area. :mad

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for your car, bro.

I live in Rancho Cordova but work in Elk Grove at Apple. I drive a '91 318iC. There are a couple of other E30's in Elk Grove as well. My co-worker Brian has a sweet AC Schnitzer equipped E34.

Mark:

I didn't know there were so many. I've been to Lubo's (great for dealer-type services and honest guys). I also go to Schatz & Krum for performance-oriented stuff, but they're kinda far from my work. Is Western Engineers or any of the others any good? I work pretty close to IPB and see nice cars there.

I have a friend who just quit Apple, Oscar M. He was in sales. He's trying to get me a discount on an iMac. :) I've probably seen your car before. I live about 1 minute from Apple.

Chris

I had a disagreement with the owner of Western Engineers and haven't been back. That was a few years ago, but they do good work and are very knowledgable especially on older BMW's

Angelo is the tech advisor for the local CCA chapter. Honest guy and good work.

Autostatt is pretty reputable. I was told once that their lead mechanic Tom is factory trained. I've met him and he certainly knows his stuff.

There's also Euro-Am in Carmichael, they are CCA members.

M Power Motors has also done work for me, and he was very good as well.

Each of these places seem to do work, or so I've heard. I think it comes down to personalities. Most of these are very small operations (with the exception of Lubo's and Schatz & Krum), some people like that others expect a full staff like what the dealerships offer. Good luck!

BTW, you should come to a CCA chapter meeting some time. We've lost our regular meeting place (Sizzler next to Niello) and so the meetings have floated the past few months, however, if you e-mail Woody our newsletter editor, he'll put you on the events mailing list. In case you were wondering, we've had our November meeting and we don't meet in December, although we do have event(s) planned for the month. Woody can be reached at: news@svbmwcca.org

Thanks for the info, Mark. I'll give one or two of those guys a shot. Got a couple of Inspection IIs due. Gonna try to do as much as I can myself, but will need some help with the rest.

Thanks again.

Yeah, I do most of the work on my car. Luckily the M42 is pretty close to maintenance free. I only take it in for major stuff (like AC, water pump, etc. Stuff that requires a diagnosis to figure out what broke). I have some belts I need to replace, a coolant flush I have to perform and an oil change I'm overdue on. It never ends.

Ya, I ain't around too often but I live off Calvine Rd.

Yo does anyone know where I can get an Inspection II done for a good price, I usually check my stuff out, but I don't got the time and I'll like an expert to look the stuff every once in a while. I got 55k on my car and its about time to take it in.

Sorry, I don't, however, I suspect it varies based on the model. I haven't had an inspection done in a few years as most of the required items I do myself and I've built a reset tool to take care of the light when it comes on.
