I think we could do them at $300 if we had about 2500 orders....These kits aren't cheap parts-wise, and they take time to put together.

Can I see a picture of the AutoMeter vs VDO Gauges? I can't tell which is which from the EDGE website. I would want whatever ones blend best into the dash. I don't want the white gauges.

And let me get this straight: The group buy would only save $10 per set, right? I'm not complaining, just trying to get an idea of what this opportunity means.

actually its roughly $20 savings, its not much but still its savings, if it was $379 shipped we'd probably get more buyers. I am definately in for the autometer white/alu ring kits for Oil temp, pressure, water temp. count me in.

By the time you gather all the parts, modify your sunglass holder(without the angle) and wire it you might save a couple bucks. But waste time.
This kit if for the person who wants a complete package with a pre built wire harness. Ready to instal with the correct senders and a oil block.
Heck I've seen the kit and the instal book that comes with it. Its so easy my kid could instal it.

Count me in for the GB if it happens.

Thanks guys, you are almost there. Price is not shipped, unfortunately, shipping isn't cheap either as we go to great lengths to make sure they arrive in one piece. You can see the gauges at www.summitracing.com or egauges, just pick a style. The one that is closest to the factory look is the VDO Vision series. FWIW we make no money on the gauges, there simply isn't any margin in them.

Keep in mind that NOBODY on the market has an angled face bezel to point the gauges at the driver. Without this feature, you can't see the Autometer Gauges. VDOs are OK because they have such a shallow bezel, but the deep bezel on the autometers means you have to have the angle or they are useless.

I am travelling this week and will pull together all the confirmed folks next weekend. If we have hit the number, I will email you each individually to confirm which gauges you want, which order you want them in, shipping and payment info.

I have the Edge gauge set up with VDO oil temp, oil pressure and volts. I am very happy with the look, performance and peace of mind that I get by knowing what's up as far as my engoine is concerned. I paid retail and would have quite willingly participated in a GB!

Any gauges are fine. Please keep in mind that we are optimized for either oil temp/oil press/water temp or oil temp/oil press/volt from a wiring harness, ODB perspective. We'll put any kit together for you (try that somewhere else). We will contact each of you individually to make sure we are meeting your needs. Any price variance we can discuss at that time.

As for the Radio slot, That's what I have in my car, so it looks/works pretty well. I am not satisfied with the current quality for general availability, but I think we can rectify that pretty quickly. I will get on that next week.

Here are some pics of my new gauges installed by Edge on Wed night. They are VDO water temp/oil temp/oil pressure. Very nice. Gordon at Edge is a great guy. This was my first experience with Edge and I can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommend them and the work they do. You won't be disappointed.

A couple of you have specified the AutoMeters with the Aluminum ring, but have stated "white faced" I just want to clarify that these are UltraLites and have a silver face, not white. They have a white faced series called "Phantom" but they have a black ring.

Unfortunately a little slower than expected. We needed to make a new mold for the other style and that coupled with the other volume of orders has added some time. Should be something we are working on this week though. We will keep you up to date!

Just finished the install on mine tonight and it looks great!!! Can't wait to see it in action!

Install wasn't too bad. Toughest part for me was the grommet at the firewall... just had to give it some good tugs! It's just hard to really work with.

Ahh...after 9 hours of work its finally done (note I am extremely novice). Had a few trials and tribulations. Gordon wasn't kidding about that grommet...what a B**ch...spent 2 hours on that alone :eek:. After that I realized I didn't have the 24mm nor the 32mm combi wrench (doh! should have checked that before i started...like i said...novice). That 32mm combi wernch was a pain to find, went to three stores and finally found it at sears. After that everything went fine. I also changed the thermostat per Gordon's reccomendation and also did a coolant flush. Last problem I ran into was I had pulled off one of the radiator hoses to get the fan on/off and forgot to hook it back up :eek:...Now for those that don't know...this is very very bad. I ended up sparying 2 gallons of coolant an water all over my engine bay, luckily i noticed before i had driven too far and was able to get a family member to bring me more coolant and water (Definitely could have been worse). Ahh...what a long day. Now that the guages are in and working, I realized that i don't know what the "normal" operating ranges should be. Anyone have any ideas? I'll try to post pics later.

Oil pressure should be from 15-25 (idle, warm) to 55-60psi (hot, WOT).

Oil temp should be from 120 (10 or so minutes of driving) to 180-210degrees F (car fully warm, 210 would be after hard driving (ala track, a few autocross runs).

Water temp should be about the same as oil, will heat up to around 210degrees and sit there.

I found that after having all the cooling lines hooked up right and having the right amount of coolant my water temp leveled off at about 190 so that sounds good. Oh and yes, my last name really is Thrasher :buttrock

If you can't find a 32mm wrench, you can also use a 1.25" (inch-and-a-quarter, 1 1/4") SAE wrench. Might be easier to find, if your local tool places are limited in their selection of metric stuff.

Sorry folks, the last "group" buy concluded with exactly ONE order. That was after a dozen or so people said they were in. Due to the expansion of our shop and because we are so busy (thankfully!!) we can no longer offering our gauge kits.
