John, of Ohio, it's good you are attempting to fix your BMW. However, it is a prequisite that you must be able to help yourself to find your help. You seem to have failed this.

Next time, might I suggest reading a bit more than 3-series, when you see there is more than one section that says 3-series.

....And besides that, I'm sure this has been covered before, as MANY people I know of have had issues with the SRS light (e30 and e36). So using the Search function would have been a better start....before just posting a question....

Yes, the seat belt buckle switch frequently wears out, and the only remedy is to order a new seat belt buckle and switch assembly. When it's replaced, you still need to have the idiot air bag light turned off, and that can only be done through a BMW Modic computer device. All the dealers will have this, and they typically charge $50 to reset this. Or if you're a BMWCCA member, locate an independent mechanic that is also your local chapter member and they'll be hapy to reset this for free or a nominal charge, like a six pack.
