Bimmerforums member TomM won his first career Grand Am race this weekend. :buttrock :buttrock

Boris Said and Joey Hand finished second in the race. Bill Auberlen and Justin Marks had fuel pump problems and finished 6th, leaving Said and Auberlen tied for the class championship. Since Auberlen won more races throughout the season, the championship was awarded to him.

Good job Tom and PTG. :alright

I turned the race on yesterday and it was almost done. I didn't know Tom was winning until the very end when the announcer said Tom won his first race. I started cheering and my wife looked at me like I was crazy... like the time she caught me playing GT3 with my helmet and gloves on. :D

Way to go Tom, and congrats!!!! :clap

Congrats Tom :redspot :buttrock :alright That car must haul - Bill was saying with the better aero treatement on that car, that it's 6 mph faster on the oval than his :eyecrazy

- I was going to say "hi" when I was down at the pit stall, but it was right when Bill came in with the fuel pump relay problem, so I just stayed clear.

My friend Dan was there taking pics:

Nice work Tom, I guess your dad can't hate all drivers now. Next time you are in Birmingham for something at Barber Motorsports drop me a PM and some of us will take you out for food and beer.
I met Tom at Barber's track in Birmingham and he was a pretty cool kid.

Thanks guys.

We had a trouble free race and in the end were able to just barely stretch the fuel to the end. The dash showed .8 fuel remaining, and on a decent lap the car would consume about .6, so it was damn near empty at the end.

Definatly looking forward to next year. :D
