I was looking for some 16" motegi rims with +42 offset, and our cars have something like 13 offset what size spacers do I need?

Assuming 7" rim width - 30 mm spacer
7.5" - 35mm spacer

Get the ones made by H&R - lightweight and good quality and design.

You will also need the extra long bolts.

You will have some difficulty in getting/keeping the wheel balanced. U need to use on-wheel balancing.

Strongly recommend that you look for other rims with the proper offset or something with lower offset.

Lots of problems with e21 and wheel vibrations.

I would never recommend any wheel over 14 inches on an e21.

Only lightweight wheels with hub centric centering.

I have a set of 15 x 6.5 and 15 x 7.5 staggered BBS Marhle Rims.
I also have a 15 x 7 bbs RA rims.

They are great, and you can run 15s on your car, my offset is 13mm.
No spacers and they fit fine. I have seen 16s and 17s on the e21.
I dont recoomend them but they can be done, and the tire rack does offer 16 in BBS rims that are nice.

I have also rolled my fender lips all around, but I ran the BBS RA rims since 1991 with 205-50-15s.

Spacers are bad :nono

Try and stick with an offset that will work

15's are the perfect wheel size for the E21, More tire selection and wheel choices through a 15" rather than a 14", plus all the nice wheels are 15".

These cars are small so a 15" looks proportional on these cars rather than something bigger

I have 17s and they seem to be fine, no spacers or anything. The only time i had wheel wobble was when i forgot to put on my set of wheel centerers(i guess thats what you call them) and then the wheel didnt centre itself properly. These are extremely close to touching the rear arms and at the front they nearly touch the spring plate. They had the 13mm offset i think. My old wheels 15s had problems at the front they would rub against the tie rod end but the 17s are to big for that hahaha.
