Hi all,
I'm currently looking for a good place to spend 4 or 5 days in January practicing my other expensive hobby, skiing. Anyone have any recommendations for places are the 3-4 hours (or closer) to Boston and also have slopeside houses? I don't really like condos or lodges but like to ski in and out the door for lunch, ski breaks, etc.
Little help?

I would pick a Mountain with snow on it. J/K Loon was always fun.

I'm decent with an eye towards improvement. I've been skiing past what rental skis can do for me for a couple seasons and finally ponied up for my own equipment, so I think this winter will be my winter if I can get out enough times.
I'm going to be in Boston for New Years so I thought I'd find someplace nearby. I'm just having trouble tracking down realty agencies that rent houses. All I can find is condos and hotels and lodges.
And of course the problem with being under 25 means I can't rent a car without signing over a liver as collateral.

you will never find someone to rent thier house to you, get a condo.
Stick to someplace like Killington or MT Snow if you don't own your won stuff
My favorite mountain in the northeast is Okemo in Vt. but you are looking at a 4 hour drive from boston.

Why do you say that? I've stayed in houses at several different mountains, just never in New England. Is there something different about that area?
There are so many places you can hardley go wrong with any choice. One of the nicer areas is Bretton Woods with a stay a Mt. Washington Hotel, if you have a lady with you this will score big. The skiing is intermediate, the grooming is perfect, the hotel is class with excellent dining. If you need a little more challenge you can drive to a few classic ski areas within a short drive.
