As it has been cool lately, I have been enjoying the power my car is putting down. Two days ago, I fealt a little power loss. Today, I felt a huge power loss. It seems like it takes forever to wind out first and second. In the past this would have been " hurry up and shift before we hit the 7K rev limit" . Now its wait wait wait :shifty NOW shift.
So I scanned the DME fault code and found a fault "EE". This is a misfire on Cyl #1. I cleared out the fault and guess what......the POWER she is back :redspot .
Why would a DME fault on a misfire on CYl #1 make the car loose power? Why will the ECU dial out that much power? Is it on limp home mode?
