Rockingham is the first purpose built circuit used for Nascar style racing here in the UK - it is heavily sponsored by BMW hence the BMW text in the stands!

Does that look like an oval to you? ;) It's a roval just like most NASCAR circuits here in the States.

And Krisko, ever raced on an oval? 3 wide in a bunch of Spec Miata's around T3 and T4 at Lowes Motor Speedway is anything but boring my friend.

The pics are nice and it doesn't seem to be an oval (no banking, twisty turns in background) but the Nascar comment threw me off.

I actually watch nascar and I respect it but I have no interest in driving oval tracks. I think they are a little more dangerous than road courses and are frankly boring. I say this with my only experience on ovals being Nascar Thunder 2004 where I whip up on Tony Stewart at will.

And I did do a DE on a roval (homestead) but only the nascar straights were incorporated into the course.

Rockingham is where they race ASCAR - a watered down european version of NASCAR I believe - the banking is very shallow (maybe 10-15 degress max) and for track days, they use one complete banked section and the complete, very technical infield.

I must admit that driving at 120mph 3 feet away from a concrete wall is anything but boring!!!
