Key West is a really cool place, nothing like chilling out and catching the sunset at the bar at the Pier House-but KW has gotten over commercialized and too much of a tourist trap.

Mallory Square is a still pretty awesome.

The Seven Mile bridge through the Fla Keys is pretty cool with how the water looks green on one side and blue on the other.

No I am not in high shool.(class of '02) yes, i am only 21.

Seriously, I love road trips man. I used to drive down to the Keys with my buddies. Stop at different places and hang out. The trip is as fun as the destination. Like "South of the Border." :laugh. You know you are further down south when you see signs for that dive every other mile.

The worst part is coming back when it is all over. Trip seems twice as long.

IT's expensive, but it's still going up. Property in KW appreciated 34% last year... The more northern keys appreciated about 28% :eek:

Yeah, if you hit traffic, you are screwed. It turns into a 3 hour trip to KW from Islamorada.

This year's hurricanes left the keys alone pretty much -- But the tourist market and real estate in general is taking a pretty big hit b/c everyone is scared of hurricanes now. There are some houses that aren't in need of huge ground up resto's -- just modernizing -- new kitchen cabinets, new floors, new walls, appliances, maybe windows, landscaping etc etc...
I'm trying to make it so i can move there for 4-5 months and have fixing all that stuff be my "job"

Islamorada's nice. Bahia Honda gets my vote for best beach in the area.

And if you're gonna get to KW, make the extra effort for the seaplane trip to the Dry Tortugas. Take the last plane of the day and you'll have the whole park almost to yourself.
