A new team has announced it will enter Formula One in 2006, there name: Team Dubai F1. The team will be entering Formula one with the help of McLaren-Mercedes. The team will run Mercedes engines and get technical support from the McLaren team with their chassis.

Two weeks ago another team announced it would enter Formula One as of 2006. Midland F1 will be debuting with a Dallara chassis. It means that in 2006 two new teams will enter Formula One.

Eddie Jordan has been in talks with the Dubai company earlier this season about selling his team or shares of it but they decided to start up their very own new Formula One team.

"We ultimately concluded that the acquisition of an existing team would never enable us fully to demonstrate our own commitment and excellence since success would inevitably have been linked with the existing team's brand and values," said Team Dubai spokesperson Tim Fulton.

Is this a saudi team? I never heard of Dubai as a company associated with cars.

The more the merrier. I'm glad to see some new people and money coming to sport. However, as a Constructor Series, this seems to be a McLaren/Mercedes shadow operation. I thought the team was supposed to build their own cars? If they get the chassis and engines from suppliers isn't that the IRL/CART almost? I know they aren't spec engines, but they don't seem to be a "constructor".
