tybmw 10-14-2004, 07:04 PM still need to check them out in person but from all the pics that I have seen there is no curb rash at all. I will let you know when I go pick them up tomorrow... I was posting this whole thread just incase I decide to go another way. Just wanted to make sure I can get my money back if needed.

Roids66 10-14-2004, 08:23 PM I just paid $1000.00 shipped, no tires, for a similar set of '95s in good condition. (no rash, minor scratches and dust buildup). I feel I got a good deal.

Seemed low to me, as I have been looking for about 1 year.
Forged, painted Ltw's were only produced in 95...kinda rare, especially in good condition.
I sold my doublespoke II's (non forged) in worse condition for $700 + shipping, and it is common for good condition contours (non forged) to go for $800 +/-.
I guess one person's good deal is another person's bad deal...

The prices for rims for these cars is amazing considering how badly their values have tanked. $800 for Contours? I can get a good E36 M3 for less than $10k easily, yet the rims for it can run as high as $2k if you're looking at a good forged set of rims. I don't know who would consider that a good deal but ok. As you said, one person's good deal is another person's bad deal.
They are worth $500 for the set. I will do you a favor and take them off your hands.

You, my friend, got an incredible deal. Good work. From what I have seen, a pristine set can go for twice that - although for some reason actually having tires on rims for sale doesn't seem to affect the price much.
Good luck on the sale, tybmw. Those are great rims. I have a staggered set myself and am looking for the right set so I can run 4 x 8.5's in the summer and 4 x 7.5's in the winter. But unfortunately I don't "need" them so I am waiting for a pretty good deal.
Peace.
tybmw 10-16-2004, 02:34 PM Ya never picked them up, thanks for the intrest though...

? Are you saying you will sell a set of staggered OEM ltw rims for $500? If so, I am definitely interested.

do your rims have BMW MOTORSPORT engaved in them?
if not, then yours aren't forged
these are wheels are forged :)
M3Jokster 10-17-2004, 01:16 AM i don't have the engraved "motorsport"
but was told...that they are all forged.
here's a link http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66745
KKSlider 10-17-2004, 01:32 AM they're ALL forged :rolleyes
Actually, you can find knock-offs that aren't OE BMW and aren't forged. Real BMW rims have a part number and roundel stamped on the inside of the rim. Also, if the rims are stamped "Motorsport" but not "BMW Motorsport" they are not LTWs, not forged, and not worth much.
The LTWs pictured above are real, and they are worth more than the $500 that my cheap self is willing to pay for them, as evidenced by the other offers in this thread.
wtf....when we say that they're ALL forged, we arent including the replicas :rolleyes
