welps, its that time again to take the M3 to inspection, i know i will fail due to tint windows, no front license plate, no amber bulbs, and possibly HID's, since they're dicks here...anyone know of a place that i can get a hook up on.. ;)

I'm pretty sure you need a New Jersey inspection if the car is registered in NJ..

umm get amber bulbs not to hard to replace and hit them with a light coat of silver spray paint from a couple of feet away and they will look silver not amber or get prolags and roll in with your windows down, how hard could it be to zip tie your plate to the front of the car? hids i dono about but you might get by by saying there blue bulbs lol

Amber bulbs is easy... zip tying the plate works....
It will still fail for the clear corners, you need that retarded amber reflector that they do not have, hence why no clear corner is dot approved. It will still fail for the hid's, and if any of the windows in the back are tinted, they will automatically roll up the front to check, and it will still fail for that.
Inspection stickers are hard to come by, due to the investment all the private places had to make to get to clean air level II inspections here in Jersey. Its really easy to loose an inspection license and or get fined 10 grand, if you get caught letting things slide.
My advice, go to dmv, let it fail for tint, and see if they catch the hid's, they may or may not (fix the rest of the problems). Then shop around for a place that just has to do a reinspection of the tint. Makes them a lot less liable, the big deal in NJ and inspections is the emissions.

I have the same mods actually. Took it to my mechanic (who is a bmw nut and private inspection facility), ran the tests, failed me for pedals (unsafe blah blah) then half an hour later, passed me....Granted, I had to kick him an extra 40 bucks, but still...neat and relatively quick

whatever the charge is for private inspection....but all told the charge was around 70bucks
i know a place here in Clifton. I'm off this friday and if you need one, let me know (PM or email) and i'll give you the details. I'll even go down with you because the guy is familiar with me. I got another bf.c member here one for this POS beat the shit Saab that'll never pass even if god wanted it to.
it would be better if it was early in the morning (it does take some time) and everyone who needs it meet up at my place at the same time so we can do this in one shot. i think he charges $75 per car.
