View Full Version : Bimmerparts.com Comments... (Merged Threads)
m34usc 09-11-2004, 05:19 PM Set my weekend aside to replace my entire cooling system and belt tensioners. Bought all my parts (except waterpump) from bimmerparts.com. Well, you guessed it, they set me the wrong belts and one of the wrong tensioners. :mad
Now my car is stuck in my garage. I'll have to try to get the right parts from the "stealer" on Monday after work and give up my week nights trying to get my car ready for my 2nd job (where I need my M3) next weekend.
Why is it that when you try to save some $$$, you alway seem to pay later? (shipping cost back to bimmerparts, the correct parts at the dealer and THE TIME!) I should have ordered from Pacific or Circle BMW.

Thanx for the post.....I always like to hear about the incompetent vendors as it keeps me from having to go through the same shit..... It is one of my pet peevs.
But on a side note.... I would like to list the vendors that have done a super job and have been easy to deal with....so far Understeer, Mpact Motorsports, Turner Motorsports, Strong Strut and Riot Racing have seemlessly filled my orders with no problems what so ever along with great tech and customer support. Now AA was a pain in the ass at first but has pretty much done everything possible to make it right. Needless to say I will give them another chance and order from them again.
badmonkey 09-11-2004, 06:12 PM Yup, Bimmerparts did me wrong a couple of times. Never again.
FWIW, most of your OE replacement type parts actually came from World Pac, not
Bimmerparts.com. It may be a database error or pulled wrong.

Mantic 09-11-2004, 06:22 PM They sent me the wrong belt as well. I'm starting to wonder if maybe thier online ordering isn't messed up.
bmwperson 09-11-2004, 06:30 PM They said they`re gonna give me my money or exchange my bentley manual and never responded... oh well Ill buy parts somewhere else....

BrazeauRacing 09-11-2004, 08:02 PM I also had a bitter experience with Bimmerparts.com. Ordered a bunch of cooling stuff, but got the wrong coolant level sensor (can't finish the job without it or change it with ease later). Called them and they said they'd ship me the right one the next day. Two weeks later, still no sensor. Called 'em back again and they say: "we shipped it a few days ago and you should see it by the end of the week". Folks... i NEVER got that thing. Had to modify the one they sent me to work with my car (it was for '96+ and mine's a '95 so i had to rig the wiring). Luckily, i have a different vehicle for a daily driver, otherwise i would've been stranded for 3 damn weeks. Never again. :mad
///MacDaddy 09-21-2004, 06:21 AM Bad experience with them also....I won't deal with them anymore.
phillyB///M3 10-04-2004, 07:42 PM I bought a Fan Delete kit from Bimmerparts.com and they sent me the wrong Fan Switch... I've been calling them for about two weeks now and they keep giving me the run around. I'm going to keep on trying to call them but Im getting pretty pissed about it. :mad
whiteM3/4 10-04-2004, 08:05 PM I called bimmerparts early last week because I had a question about a fuel filter, ordered 2, plus 4 oil filters and some other stuff because it was $20 cheaper (according to their web site) for the stuff than bavarian autosport. I also ordered stuff from bavarian autosport the same day regular shipping. Bavarian autos's shipment came last thursday. Bimmerparts stuff still isnt here, nor has it gone through on my credit card as of today. The guy who took my order sounded like he was in a hurry & wouldnt even tell me my total or even how much my shipping would be. I knew right then I shouldnt have given them my credit card number. Very unimpressed. I hope they lost my order so I can try someother place like BMA. Did I just get someone there on a bad day? Or can I call my credit card and tell them not accept any charges from them as it's been a week.
Patrokloss 10-04-2004, 08:26 PM I have always ordered directly from their website. Quality product, fast shipping... never had a problem yet.
phillyB///M3 10-04-2004, 08:37 PM Yah I just posted about them in the other thread... Man all I know is I better get my damn fan switch! :mad
nitty 10-04-2004, 08:49 PM I have always ordered directly from their website. Quality product, fast shipping... never had a problem yet.
Same experience here. Items were shipped incredibly fast.
whiteM3/4 10-04-2004, 08:51 PM Yeah, I am off this week and had planned on working on car, but now am going to get needed stuff from stealer. Have had great experience w/ UUC, bavarianautosport and tirerack, and even Ebay!
ive heard a lot of bad stories recently about them :az
MitchSF 10-04-2004, 09:17 PM I wonder if they realize how damaging a thread like this is, to their business. It could be worth thousands, or tens of thousands in lost revenue.

BCM M3 10-04-2004, 10:29 PM I've always had good luck with them. Very quick shipping and good prices. I ordered online.
peytonrm 10-04-2004, 10:37 PM They added my email to some sort of spam list, which I was none too pleased about (I always give a unique address, so I know for a fact they gave out my address). They have always gotten me my orders very quickly though.
nydog 10-04-2004, 11:54 PM i've used them a lot. never had a problem. very fast shipping, i usually receive stuff the next day
vxnvgs9 10-22-2004, 04:23 PM I know I could have posted in the old bimmerparts.com thread, but they pissed me off enough to warrant a new one.
I bought some stuff from them in the past, stuff came very fast, no problems, happy as could be. But then I was doing a clutch replacement, and of course, i was replacing everything that goes bad on and around the tranny.
on their order page they had the selector shaft seal and the shift rod seal. I went and ordered the the shift rod seal (I needed the seal that goes on the little metal shaft that goes into the transmission that, the shaft that does the actual gear selection).
Well, I get all my parts, seals, sachs clutch kit, ect. except for they sent me this plastic thing that doesnt go anywhere! I had the whole tranny out, and I looked everywhere the part didnt go anywhere, and certainly not where i needed it. (I may be wrong, it may go somewhere but i doubt it, correct me if i am wrong.)
Im bummed, but i figure, my fault, i really needed the selector shaft seal. so i place the order, so 11 dollars later (for a 3 dollar part) the next package comes. But it was the exact SAME, WRONG part as before.
Im upset, I call the company, and I explain the whole situation so nicely. The guy seemed like an ass but he said, dont bother sending it back, and we'll give the 11 dollars back, and the financial office will contact you soon about the refund.
Well its a solid week later, no phone call, no email, nothing. Im pissed, and will never buy stuff from bimmerparrts.com again. Im just happy they sent me the wrong 3 dollar part, not the wrong clutch kit.
Sure pelican parts is across the country from me, and stuff takes forever to get to my house, but at least they try, and actually correct goof ups.
so in conclusion kids, BIMMERPARTS.COM SUCKS.

Normally, I wouldn't post in a thread like this, but we were mentioned by name...
True, all types of vendors will make mistakes - the company is run by people and people are humans, that forget things and occassionally stick the wrong labels on parts. I understand that, and as owner of Pelican Parts, I have made Customer Service a priority - when something goes wrong (and sometimes it will), we try hard to make sure that you get the right parts that you need, quickly.

Just wanted to say they finally came through and sent me the Fan Switch about 3 weeks ago. Im not very happy that they took so long but I did finally get the right switch... It took me a couple of phone calls though.
Rahul325 11-04-2004, 05:46 PM just got this from the local chapter chat list.

Heads up everyone.
Ordered pads and rotors from Zygmunt Motors, dba Bimmerparts.com on 10/11 and
within 30 minutes after hearing of another place with a $21 savings I cancelled
the order. The fone guy who took my order assured me my account was credited
that day.
Two weeks later, after calling and asking for the credit manager for 3
consecutive days after the order was cancelled, I received an e-mail saying my
account had been credited.
But when I checked with my cc company they told me it wasn't so.
Again I e-mailed Bimmerparts who again e-mailed me my account had been credited.
Today, after checking again with my cc company, I put the amount in dispute.
Forewarned is forearmed.
I don't know if they're going under, like to run on the float, or just what but
I didn't want any of you to get in the same situation unaware.

any1 else have this experience ?
///MDex 11-04-2004, 07:57 PM I have always ordered directly from their website. Quality product, fast shipping... never had a problem yet. What he said.
vxnvgs9 12-22-2004, 05:47 PM I'd like to add something to my original post. I did in fact get the money back for the part, even if the guy was a little rude about it. I saw on my debit card sheet thing that my bank gives me that the full amount was refunded. So I'm not quite so upset anymore. They seem to be like most online vendors, good prices, fast delivery... but pray that nothing ever gets messed up.
E36DJ 02-02-2005, 04:45 PM Hahahaha, I just called to make sure my order went through (after reading all of these posts) and after like the 5th ring this guy picks up and I hear "Zygmooooot" and a bunch of stuff falling over.. I can hardly hear the guy (like stuff keeps falling over?) but he tells me I won't get a tracking number till this afternoon.. which I guess means it's going out today.
However, I somehow doubt when I get back from my night class that I'll click on 'my account" and a tracking number will pop right up.
It seems to never be that easy. :(
E36DJ 02-03-2005, 10:14 AM Holy hell, after looking up my account info on his page and still seeing no tracking number (said not in database yet) I was freaking out a little. I open my mail client to write them en email and I see a "tracking number notification" email sent yesterday.
Clicked on the tracking number, it's being delivered TODAY!
It will have taken ONE DAY to get that stuff here, how crazy is that? I could have paid extra for 2 day air and it would have been SLOWER.
Dayum.
