View Full Version : 01 M Coupe vs. Audi S4
beaghost 09-30-2004, 09:22 PM So we're all minding our business cruising around 75-80 on a three lane highway in some semi-congested traffic when some Audi S4 (not current model) decides he can't wait and proceeds to fly by everyone in the right lane and do a stupid, cutting everyone off, change across two lanes to get back on the left-hmm how come?.
I happen to be a couple of cars back in the left and think to myself "I just can't let that go". I start to catch up to him as the highway veers to the right and changes to a different route number. He's now in the middle lane slowing to about 60 to get thru this veer/slight turn and I have some open space in the left front lane a easily pass around 80. Now he's switches lanes and is behind me a few car lengths and see/hear him switch lanes to fly by me on the right. I decide to wait until he reaches my bumper and hit it in 3rd at 80. He proceeds by me about a car length. I'm WOT in 3rd reaching the limit by 100 and now even with him and throw it into 4th and start to gain. I get about 3/4 cl ahead by 115 and we have to shut down for traffic and he then gets off the next exit.
Not much of a race, but curious to see if I could catch someone trying to fly by me and because I just couldn't let that behavior go.
reizor 09-30-2004, 09:27 PM Any mods on your coupe? And any pictures of your beast? Welcome to bf.c and good kill :)
awahl63 09-30-2004, 09:28 PM Was it a biturbo S4, nice race
VandyS4 09-30-2004, 09:29 PM Hrumph :D
Nicely done. I thought '01 M coupes had the S54 engine? Your pull seems like an S52.
How much does the clownshoe weigh?
beaghost 09-30-2004, 09:38 PM Couldn't tell if it was modded and my car is stock. It's a bit hard to be exact when someone is approaching WOT and your cruising at a constant speed but yes, it is an s54.
Here's a pic: PY rules of course
hsmith 09-30-2004, 09:48 PM Nice Kill and beautiful car. I love M coupes, especially S54 M coupes. :D
Pheonix Yellow is the sh*t. Good kill.
PS: The NJ license plate looks good on PY. :alright
Sparc_it 09-30-2004, 09:58 PM ohhh, your car is PIMP

beaghost 09-30-2004, 10:56 PM Thanks. A bit of fender gap though. I think I need a new suspension at 40K because, unless this is normal, the right side is lower than the left. I push on that side and notice a bit more bounce.
Ferris 10-01-2004, 09:05 AM Nice!! As a former b5 S4 owner, I can say many Jersey S4s are moddified :D.
What road was this on?
beaghost 10-01-2004, 11:34 AM It was on rt 78 where there is a nice transition turn onto rt. 24.
mattjw916 10-01-2004, 11:44 AM nice run... :buttrock
hmm im from jersey and 78 is not that far away and i have a friend with a 2000 silver s4 and its pushing 310 bhp and 350 tq.

man, your car is on FIRE! that's hot.

No, no, no. He let the guy in the S4 go WOT and basically about to do a fly by before he mashed the throttle.
Just to give some perspective, your car better be WHOLE lot quicker from a roll to do what he did in his car(I'm talking 8-9mph better as far as traps).
Nice run, man and beautiful car. Damn I want an S54...

If you want real clown shoe, check out the Viper. The red Viper looks like Ronald McDonald's shoe! :D

that is normal to compensate for the driver's weight. IDK why BMW did that though. My E36 M3 is the same way

Umm, I meant the driver's side is lower about 1/2 inch in the back which I don't think is normal.

That color is called phoenix yellow? The late model integra type R's were also called phoenix yellow, or PYR.

I was wondering if anyone else picked up on this. You have to have a distinct power advantage to pull on someone when they have the momentum. I use this trick all the time when im "playing" with other cars that I know wouldnt be a real race as a way to sorta even the odds/ make it interesting. :evil2
beaghost 10-04-2004, 03:16 PM Yeah, you gotta take what you can get and make it as fun as possible. I really don't go looking to race, but I hardly have anyone initiate a race with me.

Of literally hundreds of street races, Ive had maybe 10 that someone else initiated. Go figure. :cool
