View Full Version : Volvo S80 T6 vs E46 M3 Vert
Sound Of Speed 09-26-2004, 04:45 PM I was driving behind this black m3 vert. He was going below the speed limit, so i move over the the next lane and gun it for a second. Right after i do, he speeds up next to me and we both go. Im in manual shift mode. It was pretty short but I had a little over a car length on him.
Damn that felt soo good. :redspot
If your wondering, the S80 has an IPD chip.

S80 T6 with Ipd chip is very fast.
I used to have a S70T5 with Ipd chip and cat-back.

0-60 now comes as quick as 5.9 seconds
for a $1650 package price including new exhaust, and K&N.. I guess that's not too bad.. But I still dont see how such a heavy car could possibly stay ahead of an E46 M3.. of course he didn't say that it was.. so if it were an E36, I can believe that. :buttrock

His title says so. And the 'vert is heavier and slower, and if it was an auto/SMG... possible. You're talking close hp figures, and more torque for the Volvo.

ah i thought I saw the 'e46' somewhere.. lol, The weight is very similar now that I look it up(vert that is), more torque on the S80, but how is it being measured? I'm still a little sceptical.. I might have to get a T6 again ;)

Turbo Volvos respond VERY WELL to chips. Try that one day.

I think I might. I was going to get an E36 M3, but I can get an S80 T6 for about the same price, and I know how that thing handles :redspot Damn, now I have a hard choice..

Its a great car, but i dont think that much power to the front wheels is good.

Well.. if you see the car in my sig, it won't be long before I have about that much power to the front wheels.. I'm currently pushing about 250fwhp.. and I know a few people with well over 350-450 whp in them.. so I don't think it'll be that big of a deal ;)
PerksBMW 09-27-2004, 02:04 PM my sisters stock S80 T6 is pretty quick, but the boost should be higher from the factory but I guess 268hp stock is decent. Fun car and nice kill.
