We had a drive to bmp in Tyler TX last year for a bmw/mini show. It was about 25 cars driving to tyler and was alot of fun. They aren't going to have that show this year but they plan on it in the spring hopefully.

Drives are fun! We had lots of them in FL. We use to drive down to Miami from Tampa (about a 5-6 hour drive) for the South FL GTG every year. We normally have 20-30 cars which made it lots of fun.
We had local drives too.

From my post in "what is there to do"
Go on a nice drive through the Texas hill country. I do this about 3-4 times a year and it is really the best twisties that Texas has to offer. You can do the back roads from D/FW to Fredericksburg and then super slab back in one day easily. :redspot

If you guys want to hit some "DFW twisties" (yes, there are some twisty country roads if you know where to look) let me know and I'll put a ride together.

I've been riding with sportbike clubs in the DFW area for the past 10 years and there are some runs we've done religiously on Sunday mornings like "The Cemetary Run" which starts in Plano and heads north east.

On like a Saturday morning leaving @ 8am or 9am you are back early afternoon and you've done 200 or so miles of fun country roads with tons of corners (for Dallas anyways).

OR

If you want to make a full day of it, you can get all the way up to the Talimena Scenic Biway (INCREDIBLE road) by lunch (leaving at 7am) and back in Dallas by dark. Hard to believe this view is only a few of hours from Dallas:

...and the leaves are changing this time of year too!
