Hey im new to the board but ive been modding my car for a while. Until now almost all my mods have been cosmetic and im pretty happy with the appearence of the car however im looking for more power. ive spoken to a couple ppl to get some suggestions on supercharging my car but i wanted to get some more oppinions before i come to my decision. Here is where i stand : i have a 1995 automatic 325i with my only performance mod being an AA gen. 3 exhaust. :help ive spoken to the guys from my shop here and i did a quick flyby at active since i live in miami. The kit that ive decided on is the ASA supercharger or the dinan. From what i read with the dinan i can keep my auto tranny and just add the supercharger. however ive been told that with the asa i would have to do a tranny swap to a manual and change my differential because the 95 325i has a 3:91 gearing and my 5th gear would be an absolute nightmare. the differential is something that really wont bother me but i kinda feel like if it isnt broken dont fix it and my question is would it be absolutlly necessary to change the transmission to manual for the asa kit...any input is greatlly appreciated.

What company is selling the asa kit for the e36? What kind of tuning? Do you have a link?
I know that renn-something makes a kit for the e46's...

the only reason i can see needing to do a auto-man swap is to have a tranny that can take the power which that auto tranny may have a tough time doing if you get over ~240whp. (which is not hard) personally i would not go with a supercharger unless you do a RMS kit with AA tuning (i wont trust RMS tuning if my life depended on it) Personally i would go turbo (which i am by the way with my 318 so i have a little experience with this) the auto tranny is a great tranny until you start to try and shove a good amount of power through it which then you need to swap in a m3 5spd to handle the power. and if you kept the 3.91 it wouldn't be 5th that would be a nightmare but 1st and 2nd cuz you would get nothing but wheelspin. and you would top out at about 110mph.

Although FI is not the best route to take with an auto tranny, the Dinan vortech with software is probably the best way to go
