It took me 1.5 months to get my first check and it was only $400. So if you plan to get it while you look for another job then apply right away... Dont want to sound lazy or anyting... but it gives you the freedom to be picky with the job you take. :) Tangent 09-25-2004, 05:13 PM I work for the county of Riverside and we might have a couple of user tech openings in a while. It's kind of hard to say when though; it's typical government when it comes to posting a position when there's an opening, let alone actually getting interviews and hiring... socal328 09-25-2004, 11:50 PM 800-300-5616 - Unemployment Hotline :lol :lol chrisboiii 09-26-2004, 06:54 AM Sorry to hear about that man. I would greatly appreciate if you can find out if you guys are hiring. I'll be willing to accept all reasonable offers. Ill be willing to start from the bottom if thats all it takes. M3Jokster 09-29-2004, 03:10 AM hey....when u apply for unemployment...tell them u might want to go back to school..ie Technical must be a different field...ie say nursing program..LVN or something..bc u only get 6 months of unemployment..after 6 months u have to ask for an extension...if u don't tell them in the beginning that u my want to go get technical training...then it will take longer..and u might not be able to extend your unemployment. so tell them in advance..so it's gonna be in your unemployment files. btw i was unemployed from 10/03-3/04 it sucked! but was about to change fields and get another 6 months extension..but got a job instead. they will pay you up to 1 year of unemployment (after 6 months of unemployment) if u go back and get technical training. btw max is 370 a week. I maxed my unemployment benefits....maybe it might have increased recently.
