When I moved here a month ago I had my M3 and my Jetta auto transported here via a car carrier. The day after I got my cars back I drove the M3 to work and on the way home I notice a very loud exhaust change. I pulled into a muffler shop who told me my exhaust manifold was cracked right about the flange where it connects to the down pipe. This highly pissed me off because it had to have come from the impropper care of my car on the truck. I am still waiting to hear what will happen on that side but for now I need to get this fixed.
I did actually get a used manifold from the shop I used in FL for a great price. The problem is when I replaced the manifold some of the studs started backing out (they broke basically). Now I tightened them down as far as they would go but some of them are starting to back out now as I said. I went by AutoScope and as cool as they are they still want like $350-450 to take them back off and reinstalled them.
I just wondered if there was anyone else you guys might recommend that would be less expensive. I just can't stand this anymore.
Thanks

Well I am not afraid to work on it, I did it the first time but like I said the studs need to be tapped. That I haven't done before.
If someone here was willing to help I would go out and buy the tapping kit and I have a 2 car gargae with a floor jack and jack stands.

If that is your car in your sig then you need a bigger car if you are going to try to live out of it. LOL

working on the header on e36 is a total PITA. I would pay the $300. If you want to do it yourself I have the right taps.

I got back under it last night and it seems the only stud that backed out (fell out completly) is on the clean air pipe which is a PITA to me anyway. The rest are still in tact so I just need this one fixed.

I have a site for you Secret, go to www.rentclicks.com and seach in the area you want. I found tons of houses and the cost of living here compared to FL is much less so it was an easy find for me.
We could do a tech day at my house, I am cool with that. I also have a theater room so we could do a movie night too. It is still a work in progress but I do have the projector and most of the other geat I need.

We are actually looking for something to do tonight and if no one comes up with anything soon that is my plan for tonight. I don't mind a few people coming by so let me know.
