View Full Version : Can someone look at a car in Salt Lake for me/Mechanic in Salt Lake recommendations?
Brent95M3 09-20-2004, 11:44 AM I am thinking about purchasing a MZ3 coupe in Salt Lake City and wanted any recommendations for a shop to do a pre purchase inspection. Also, if anyone is in the area and would be willing to check it out for me before the shop (to see if it is even worth my time) please let me know.
Brent
zizux 09-20-2004, 11:47 AM I'm sure some of the bmw kids that are local can help I don't have alot of experiance with them but if nobody else says something I'll check it out.

Brent95M3 09-20-2004, 12:51 PM I've had 3 E36's coupes already so I need a different bodystyle, but thanks anyways. Besides, its Byanz :) j/k, I noticed others ragging on you for it.

Brent95M3 09-21-2004, 11:33 AM So back to the car...anyone able to look at it for me this week to see if its worth a flight out there and having someone look at it?
Sorry Brent we have a very difficult time staying focused. I could go look at it if it is in SL valley, tommorrow. I dont have any recommendations for a shop, as I do everything myself. Do you want me to call the owner and set up a time or do you have another plan? Have you done a Carfax check?

Got a little off topic, did we? :D
Do you know what area the car is in? That would help determine who is closest that could just run over...
Edit-El Marko to the rescue!!!! :stickoutt
Brent95M3 09-21-2004, 11:56 AM He is in Syracuse, north of SLC. The # is on the autotrader ad posted earlier.
Right, but do you want me to set it up? Have you run a Carfax?
12:03 09-21-2004, 12:10 PM 1. Carfax doesnt know shit
2. Syracuse is way up there
3. I thought you were in Utah
:dunno
Brent95M3 09-21-2004, 12:15 PM I'm in Boston. I knew he was in the SLC area but didn't know he was that far away from it. I have run a Carfax and it is clean, however, I agree that they don't know about accidents as not all are reported. If anyone is relatively close to this guy, cool, if not, then I'll just have Murray do the inspection.
Isnt Syracuse near Ogden?
Jedi801 09-21-2004, 12:20 PM it's before Layton.
Isnt it pronounced Layhon?
12:03 09-21-2004, 12:38 PM Lay-TON
euro4life 09-21-2004, 12:38 PM Actually, here in UT we have our own form of pronunciation for the English language.
Ruf (roof)
Crick (creek)
are perfect examples. We will pronounce it how we FEEL like pronouncing it.
I wonder if other regional sections are as ot as us. We cant stay focused for two or three posts. :rofl :rofl :rofl

Speak for yourself hick boy.
euro4life 09-21-2004, 12:50 PM It's UT slang Nick. It has nothing to do with how I personally speak. I am too learn-ed to speak such primitive garbage.
12:03 09-21-2004, 12:51 PM Georgia and Mid-Atlantic are about the same. But they've both been warned
:help
euro4life 09-21-2004, 12:51 PM Sorry Brent, we'll take it somewhere else.
Come on guys..
jteef 09-21-2004, 01:48 PM I live like 1 street away from syracuse. I'm not an expert when diagnosing cars, but I can probably take a look at it for you and check most of the common m3 problems.
SehrSchnell 09-21-2004, 04:48 PM Brent if you wanted to arrange for him to come half way to SLC, I could meet at look at for you. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I could look at and pick it apart to give you a overall review of it. I am somewhat savy in vehicles. (not to toot my own horn - bought over 35 vehicles).
Just let me know.
Johnny
euro4life 09-23-2004, 02:03 AM Johnny, you are a pal.
I would be more than happy to look at it for you but I alas, I am too busy at the moment. I could probably get up there in a few weeks?
:dunno
Quit taking sick days and get something done. :rolleyes ;)
