No, his own car pwned him.

I just drove slow.

I know when not to shoot my mouth. I highly doubt I can do 1:26's, especially knowing that the 1st place qualifer at the last club race was running 1:23's. You're getting pretty damn close. Why don't you go racin'? :D

So what went wrong with your car? Did the new components not help?

I already bought my race car my friend. There's a big discussion on cages going on in the track section right now...

1:26 is really fast...but dont think its fast enuf to race...
damn J-stock and Spec Miata guys running around that time too.

Scho....brakes didnt work well for u?

Scho
09-20-2004, 11:43 AM
The brakes kicked ass. I am still pulling my eyeballs off the windshield. I love them and even got to abuse Sean's for 4 sessions.

My boost bontroller took a shit. I spiked to 20 psi on the front straight. Although that was fun, my motor did not like it. I have never felt a car pull that hard. I am selling this car now though. I am going to look for a stock 99 to pull double duty for a while.

I wish Dale from Ground Control still had his car for sale!!

Also, keep in mind Sean was pulling 1:26's in a full interiored car with streetable suspension and front race pads. I think it is damn fast for what it is. Imagine if he lost 300 lbs of weight and went to an AD setup. There would be even more Pwnage!!!

Sean has the baddest ass pit crew and mechanic in town though!! :buttrock :D

Its all in jest, just some good old trash talking :D

Congrats on the purchase, can't wait to see it sorted out.

As for me racing, its in the future. Don't know how near it is though.

I know I'm not out driving my current setup, i know its good for 1:24's- low 1:25's. But, i'm not there yet :devillook

sean....so details on your pit crew...
so when will u pull the plug and install the cage?
Did u get to eat that GT3 in your class?

Scho, glad the pads worked out great for u...still curious why the sale?
u'd prefer a NA car for racing? 20psi on the straight sounds FUN and fast!!!

Thanks. It's going to be fun building this car.

I'm looking for a used bolt-in cage as a stop-gap measure so that I can get the car prepped for December's SCCA race school.

If you know anybody selling one, please lemme know!

I let mike co-drive my car sunday, so we had to swap wheels and bleed brakes between every session. Ray, Mike and I pulled it off.

I probably won't do a cage until I graduate next year. But you never know. The gt3 in my group was driven by a slower driver, easily passed. But an instructor took that car out and was very fast. Probably pulling eas 1:24's or less. There was also a gt3 Cup car, WOW, would be the only word for it.

Considering i've only been doing DE's for a year, i figure i've done pretty well. But as i learned when I tried to stay on Dave Scott's tail, i've got a lot to learn.

DE question: I found a cheap cheap 1986 325e 5speed. Should I buy ? Cheap as in couple hundred bucks. Already has rims on it all stock. Wasted interior so no guilt on gutting the car.

Good car to have DE's in which I could sell later for e36 325 if I wanted to race something 'years' from now.

SG_M3
09-20-2004, 12:28 PM
The 325e would need a motor swap. The Eta motor was not known for its power. But any car is a good car to learn in. Just get good brakes on it, and have everything in top shape.

Track time is track time! If a cheap car is what it takes to get to the track, by all means do it!

NO, I am pretty sure mine is just hate! :stickoutt Not really, I love the car. It is fast as hell, but I must part with it.

Anyway, my car will be posted for sale this week. Anyone in Dallas looking for a Turbo M3, let me know. :alright

CABimmer
09-21-2004, 03:02 PM
Mike, OK so why are you selling that beast. You have to expect to shell out some cash to have that kind of HP. I will give you 10k for it cash on the spot.

If your selling parts, I will give you $200 for that new alum. radiator that you just bought. :D

Scho
09-21-2004, 04:09 PM
I am selling it because I do not care to try to track this car any longer. The learning curve is steep, and I do not want to use a smaller turbo to be able to track it.

I will be picking up another M3 in the meantime to pull double duty, and I will probably buy a dedicated track car in January.

I will entertain all offers and even trades.

Austin
09-21-2004, 05:35 PM
Hey I wanna ride in the car at least once before you sell it. I've only rode in one turbo M3 which was 4 door with a full cage and recaro seats.
