nitrous could be considered forced induction. all you are doing is forcing more air into the combustion chamber. Some people only run it at the track or when racing, kinda like when I run race gas, advanced timing and high boost. But I guess that's cheating too.

I have owned an FI car my whole driving life (except for a couple of Scirroco years, miss that car). Never had a catastopic failure. I think there are so many other things that would fail first, such as connecting rods, if you think of the force and stress their under its amazing they last as long as they do. A blower is just a fan, simple.
