No.. the ECU will actually cut the fuel injector out on certain cylinders.

it will just "Stumble" and keep banging against the limiter until you back off.

be carefull not to bounce it too hard or you might become friends with the infamous "limp" mode.

Just to cover all the basis... the RPM limiter only works under acceleration. If you are doing 80mph and put it into the 1st gear, the rpm limiter isn't going to help you as it is a mechanically over-rev.

what's thjis "limp" mode? cause sometimes when i shift at redline, it feels like all the power is cut off for a second as the rpms are dropping then it all of suddent kicks back in

The problem you are experiencing is a) the rev limiter or b) the DSC kicking in because it's detecting wheel spin.

in "Limp Mode" the engine basically all but shuts down and you are forced to "Limp" home at ... I don't know, something like 23 mph or something... it is in the manual, IIRC, and is a PITA
