hey, i am really confused on what pads to use. i hope to order a porter cable soon, but i want to make sure i have a list of everything to order and products i use. So, this brings me to pads for the PC. What kind of pads do i use? And do they sell them at autogeek? (im looking to only placing 1 or 2 orders, and autogeek seems to have most everything i need/want.)

any info on pads will be helpful. thanks in advance

edit: oh yea....what kind of backing plate do i need? im planning on buying the PC from http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/port/7424_car_buffer.htm?L+coastest+mfng9292ffcc37cc+10 95130702

please let me know anything i would need to get started.
:help :help :help

I ordered my PC from coastaltools with 6" backing plate for $120, i'm pretty sure they still sell them. As far as pads i use 7.5" Lake Country pads I bought them from www.topoftheline.com . I didn't know about autogeek then but I have ordered from them and they treated me right and went beyond my expectations. Good luck. If you have anymore questions let me know..

If you read my above post again I explained that. I use the 6" Hook and Loop backing plate with the 7.5" Lake Country pads. I would buy 2 yellow "cutting" pads and 4 white "pollishing" pads. I have 2 black "finnishing" pads that i've never used and don't plan on it. So they seem like a waste of money to me.

Use the cutting pad to work in the 3m FI2. Then the polishing pads for the AIO. and the SG is put on by hand. Try putting a few coats of SG a week after your first detail. The shine is amazing, you can layer SG as much as you want.
