me me me I wana go.. It wont take me more than an hour or so to get my engine back in, but I cant put it in until bimmerparts sends my motor mounts, and tranny mounts. So if they are here by thursday I will go.

m3pastu
09-13-2004, 09:47 PM
what are you doing to your car?

BMuu
09-13-2004, 10:08 PM
just replacing some stuff that bothers me. one of the motor mounts was ripped in half from the torque of the motor, the tranny mounts are old. My car had a pretty bad oil leak from the oil pan gasket, so I decided it would be easier to just remove the motor instead of doing the work with it in. Its my second time to remove it so its really not that big of a deal.

Soon I will be getting an m3 bumper, mirrors, and new paint. Then I will star deciding on wheels. I really like austins BBS wheels so I might get those or something simular.

I just sold a set of some very similar to austins. How bad was your motor mount. I cant imagine that I am making way more torque than you and have not ripped one.

BMuu
09-13-2004, 10:48 PM
Well I suppose most of it is just that they were old. the motor mount was ripped in 2.

Heres some pics of the motor mount and the motors current status.

Half the fun of driving the car is working on it... But what I like the most is seeing improvements after working on the car.

It can be very addicting.. I work on my car daily if it needs it or not.
You can always find something that could use some cleaning or replacing.
and there is always things to make it go faster and be smoother.

Next time you need work, buy the parts and come to one of the tech days at my house. FYI, that is every weekend. I am always working on my car or washing it. I can help you learn or do it for a small fee (beer, pizza)!

MikeI might just install this badboy tonight. I was reading up on it and the hardest part seems to be the bitch clip? Some people suggested to just dremel it off?

Scho

It is not that hard to get it off. I have taken mine off about 5 times. You have to know the technique.

Well I should have my motor in by tomarrow, but aa is being :EDIT: so I dont think I will have my software in yet. I may just drive out there on my stock chip, but it all depends on how rough the motor runs.

QuestMCoupe

Ray did you get the SSK on? No need to dremel that thing off, just get a screwdriver or needle nose pliers and pry it off.

Woo Hoo I got the motor in this morning before school :alright

Now I just have to hook up a few things and blead my brakes and clutch then it will be good to go other than the software from aa that I am waiting on.

They aremaking me mad, they were supposed to call me back on monday and never did so i called tuesday and the guy I needed to talk to was at lunch. So I left a message for hbim to call when he got back andthere was no call. And today no call so far. :mad
