I have made kind of a mess with super glue. how do you remove it from metal, rubber, plastic, hands, etc.?

Goof-off will work on most surfaces without damaging.
I actually super glued my hands together really badly once and didnt know what to do. I couldnt make a phone call so I had to drive home. This drive was with a 97 manual camry. A 3 block trip but it was pretty crazy.

You might also be able to find a super glue remover solution called Z-7 Debonder from the company that makes the Zap-A-Gap brand of hobby/modelling-market cyanoacrylate glues. It turns the adhesive into a jelly of sorts and you can then scrape/remove it. HTH
