Well the time has come. My current car (93 Honda Prelude) has developed quite the oil problem. I've been eyeing E36 M3's for a while now but it's to the point now where I actually need to buy another car. I'm going to be living in Seattle within the next couple weeks. What I'm looking for is a 95ish M3 that's been babied. One owner would be nice. I'm hoping for 50 to 60 K miles and would like to keep my budget shy of $15K. Avus Blue with Dove Grey vaders in my favorite, but I'm not opposed to other colors if it's a good deal. My question is, am I living a pipe dream? Will I have a tough time finding a local car that fits my criteria or should I stay determined with my search?

You may have a hard time finding that color combination with those kind of miles and that price. Be a little more open when shopping and decide what's most important to you...price/color combo/miles etc. Private party shopping should be the best route. I do have a line on a '95 and a '98 right now (both alpine white). I am a BMW client advisor and have been for eight years...I'll drop you a line if I find a diamond in the rough. You can always look through the classified section here too.

I paid just shy of 20k for that exact car in Bellevue from a private owner in Decmeber 03. 1 owner, 53k, Avus/Dove. I looked for about 6 months before finding it. It's getting harder and harder to find a 95 with those miles, hell, it was hard 2 years ago!

Too bad I am not selling mine.

Blehh... It's lookin like I'll be stickin with my oil burnin machine for another 2 years of college. Maybe I should just use my student loans to make car payments ;) After that I'll probably be leaning toward an Evo MR or STi... we'll see though. I still look at M3's for sale each week in hopes of coming across the ultimate buy :)
