I will bet you he will do $1200 shipped for those wheels. I was originally going to purchase them about 2 months ago I think. They have been on sale for a while; but, I wanted a non-staggered setup so I could rotate the tires easily.
I MAY be selling SSR comps in the future. I just bought another set this week (18x9.5) and came with some used Victo's on them (he says they will last me one to two events). So, this way I could try out r-comps this year and see what they are like. Plus, I needed some rims for winter tires.
Now, I just need to get the car back sometime this year :(

You keep saying Victos but how the hell does one fit a 17" Victoracers on an 18" wheel? Do you mean Ecstas?
I am suppose to pick up a set tomorrow with 275/35 R3S03s with a little bit of wear on them on 18x9.5s with spacers, lugs, etc for $1400.
NoSoup4U 09-10-2004, 10:43 AM OH you BASTARD!!! You are the the f-face that BOUGHT them!!! :mad :stickoutt I offered to buy his yesterday too ... from Roadfly right?? I contacted him and he said he was already negotiating with someone serious ...
I bought the OTHER ones that are on sale at roadfly as well earlier this week ... he's shipping them from CA. They have Kumho's on them and they say something like V700's on the side of them (I just call them Victo's) ... They've been on sale for awhile. But, I thought another set would be great for winter tires so that's why when I saw that ad yesterday for VA, I contacted him immediately; but, you beat me to it.
Damn ... now I might have to offer Ogredave a price to get his wheels so I can have one for winter tires.

:D
I think I saw the other set. I suspect that there will be a bunch available soon for several reasons
a. Winter (at least in this part of the world)
b. A lot of RF guys are waiting for that new Champion wheels and will be dumping SSRs.
c. Normal sales for reasons such as selling cars, need money, etc.
Do you really want that staggered setup? Just find some curbed OEM 18s...although I don't how much room you'll need with those Brembos.
You just confused me with Victo's... :confused

R3S04's ?? I guess you won't have a problem heating them up too much.
kenkamm 09-10-2004, 11:05 AM Ok I'm totally confused with what deals you guys have going on. :stickoutt
But I want to make one point. You don't want SSR comps that are staggered. You want the 18x9.5 et35 ones so you can run a non-staggered setup. That's crucial unless you're talking about keeping it on the streetzzz.
Edit: I think you guys already knew this. So I didn't need to post it. :D

I might just try them out on Sunday, not sure if I'll actually keep them. I am not even sure they will fit at this point!

Not according to Prof. Nick....he says it's not an "optimal M3 fitment". That boy be tryin' to run some 305 smth or other :stickoutt
But that's what I be gettin'
275's fit on Nick's car easily. I guess with yours being lower it could pose a problem.
I just noticed that the section width of the 265 Dunlop R tires that I have is actually wider than the 275 hoosier

I think he is comparing that to Dinan's offsets which I believe are far less agressive and will clear 275/285 fronts

I think there may be a more "perfect" offset than 35, but I think the point of the 35s is that they are "tunable" with various spacers... 0 to 5mm on the front and 5 to 15 on the rear depending on setup... if you got something like 25, you might be screwed if they stuck out too far... you'd have to machine them to bring them in if you found the need to do so.

Street tires tho...I think one also has to worry about front vs rear track. I think a proven setup with 285s will be plenty for me.

Section width depends on how the sidewall is rolled. What about tread width?

b. A lot of RF guys are waiting for that new Champion wheels and will be dumping SSRs.
That's what I don't get. They are dumping a) lighter wheels; for b) wheels that cost TWICE as much as SSR comps new. I don't get it. It seems ludicrous to sell SSR comps if you already have them for a heavier wheel. I've never had a problem with SSR comps and bending them ... then again, I'm not intentionally trying to find the deepest pothole in the road to run them over; but, driving in D.C. -- no problems.
I think 275's are the max Nick can go with unless he runs some mad negative camber (b/c I thought he was going with a coilover setup -- thus, lowering the car???) ... I think 275 f and 285 r can be done with a coilover setup; but, 285's at all four corners might be pushing it.
Do hoosier tires run wider than normal??
I might have to talk to Eric ... I think he's the local tire pimp. :D
If they don't fit Jason -- want to swap? I'll give you my 18x9.5's with victo's (I know ... I know) for your setup? This way, you can use the victo's and see if you can feel a difference with 265's vs. 245 hoo-hoo's?
35 offset is good I think for SSR as a selling point though ... b/c we all know that they definitely fit over a 15" BBK without a spacer in the front.

I am not sure RAC wheels are heavier, but I think the attractive thing about them is 18x10 rear and more aggressive offsets. I am talking about RS110, not CLS looking RG4s. But yeah, for $3200+shpping! FOOK!!!
Yes, significantly wider.
I don't know about swapping, I will probably just work on making it fit. Where's Doby's BFH?
Stop calling them Victos!!!! :stickoutt
Section width depends on how the sidewall is rolled. What about tread width?
265 Dunlop 9.5" wheel 11.3 section width 9.9 tread
275 Hoosier 9.5" wheel 11.2 section width 10.3 tread
Pretty damn close. I misread the numbers the first time and thought there was a greater section width difference. I was thinking more in terms of fitment than any performance gain from the width.
For reference:
275 Bridgestone S03 9.5" wheel 10.9 sect. 10.2 tread.
potomac 09-10-2004, 12:05 PM just trade with me and run an E36 offset: untz, untz, untz
kenkamm 09-10-2004, 12:56 PM Stop calling them Victos!!!! :stickoutt
:lol Yeah man! :stickoutt
magnetic1 09-10-2004, 01:33 PM James, I dunno how accurate those tread width measurements are... all I know is the 245 Hoosiers I have now are wider than 255 RA1s/Victos.
