Getting there bright and early to set up, though.

Hey John V-

Would you mind running my car for one of the events? I'd like to see what it is actually capable of and see how far off I am from the car's potential.

Ron Katona drove it last year and we shared a heat switching back and forth. We were like 4-5 seconds apart... :(

There is always a good chance someone won't show up and you can get a spot....the earlier you get there the better. You probably should ask about the age issue first though. Post something on the NCC board http://www.nccbmwcca.org/forum/index.php and/or send Fatih and email to see if you can run ncc_autox@yahoo.com

Oh, and it's at the Bowie Baysox stadium.

Don't worry about people laughing at you, it won't happen. Just mention to people that this is your first event, and they will be glad to help you. At least, that has been my experience as a newbie this season.

Go out there and have fun.

AlfaEric

I forget how to get to Bowie from I-70. It was 32 to...what?
From Washington:
From the Capital Beltway (I-495), take exit 19A to U.S. 50 east.
Exit U.S. 50 at MD 197 south.
Follow until it ends at U.S. 301.
Turn left onto 301 north, then right at the first light onto Ballpark Drive.
From Baltimore:
From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) take I-95 south.
Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) east to U.S. 50 east.
Follow the direction above.

I don't know about 70/32...

Follow Rt 32 to Rt 3 (going to Capitol Raceway). It's the last exit before 32 dumps you onto Rt. 50.

Just follow it for like 2-3 miles and it will be on your left.

I would aim for more like 8 if I were you. You are going to need time to register and get through tech and you will definitely need to walk the course a couple times...otherwise you will get lost and waste your runs just trying to find your way.

I've been thinking about getting a new suspension, but I have no idea if these rates are something I can live with on a daily basis.

Thanks!

On a 330? I know someone with an E46 M3 and GC 450/500 I think...I don't think he will be there on Sunday, but you can get in touch with him on Roadfly, just search for LandShark on E46 M3 board.

I guess it wouldn't have to be on a 330. I think it would suffice to be on any non-M E46 (or even an E36?). Is the M3 suspension geometry so different that a regular E46 and an M3 running the same spring rates would feel different from a harshness point of view?

This way, I won't beat Pete in his own car :stickoutt

I am 99.999999% sure you will be able to run though -- but, at least this way, you are guaranteed now to run. I'll give up my slot ... it's 204.

I'm pretty positive you have to be at least 16 with a drivers license (not a permit or restricted one). Anyone under 18 must have parent's/gaurdian permission.

I'm pretty sure if you wanted to get something signed to bring in, you would have to have it notorized. I believe they used to do this for their drivers school. They had this form on their old site (http://www.nccbmwcca.org/drivers-school/forms/parental-consent-waiver.pdf) for the drivers school. It could probably be used in the future for AutoX (to save your mother from having to come out). Print out a copy and bring it as a sample (and your mother) to this event. Check with the event coordinator when you get there to see if it could be used for future events. It's best to have a parent there the first time.
